Lindsey G's BOTM Obsession Reading Challenge 2024
3 Lists!! I am not mad at it.
I just added Bright, Young Women to my tbr yesterday. Readers really loved the story and characters; so, what's one more book.
Good luck with all 3 lists; and happy reading, Lindsey!!

Go Big or Go Home, right??!! Lol
I'm excited to read that book. I've heard alot of good things about it.
You know, I told myself I was going to only do 1 12+4 list and then have a huge Individual Challenge list. which I did/ Then you and Jen over there with multiple lists and I'm like...... eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek lolThere are so many potential buddy reads for us girl lol
What a great list, Lindsey! Your BOTM club sounds amazing. I hope you can read all of these books. I agree with Alissa, so many potential buddy reads...I haven't read 15 of those books and they all look like books I might pick. Happy reading!

I am thinking that Riley Sager book is like And Then There Were None, which I loved. Especially since I could not figure out who the killer was.

Looks like I got most of the same BOTM books you did, and haven't had a chance to read them yet either. I liked The Maid.

I have been on Goodreads since 2011, and even when I finish the challenge early; I never, ever, want to do a 2nd list. Ever. 🥴🥴

I really should do this with my BOMC picks as well (but I won't). I loved Jojo Moyes' book & I have the Lisa Jewell book on my shelf.Look forward to hearing your thoughts & seeing your progress!
Happy Reading!

I will get back to you on the buddy reads. I can never plan anything until I know who wins the GRC Awards, since I try to read all of those every year, and there are so many of them. :-)

Ok, so it looks like Weyward made the list of winners. Totally up for a buddy read on that one. Check & Mate i want to read and can get thru BOTM, so let me know whenever you want to read that one and I'm in. I do have Yellowface on my ipad and can get Happy Place from the library. So those are some other buddy read options.....

Ioana wrote: "Lea and I will buddy read Yellowface in Feb, and Weyward in Sept (unless I didn't mixed up the dates). Would these dates work for you, too?" Ioana is correct on the dates; we would LOVE it if you were able to join us. Alissa mentioned wanting to read Check & Mate together and I think we decided on June due to library issues. And with all these buddy reads at the beginning of the year, I was thinking Happy Place for the summer; what do you think about July or August?
When are you thinking about reading Love, Theoretically? Or Bright Young Women? Or basically your whole list? LOL.
Lindsey wrote: "There's a first time for everything!! It could be your New Year’s resolution!!..."
No Way. I would feel so overwhelmed.
If I did a 2nd list, it would all be short stories on Kindle.

Ok, so let me get dates straight- Jan - Warrior Girl Unearthed
Feb - Yellowface
June - Check & Mate
Jumy/Aug - The Happy Place
Aug - Holly
Sept - Weyward
Is that right so far? If so I'm good with those dates.
Alissa and I had talked about reading Bright Young Women in January.
I'm thinking Love, Theoretically I was going to read in March. Would that work with you?

Lindsey, you've got all the dates straight. What a great reading year. Let's add Love, Theoretically to March. I will try to read Bright Young Women with you and Alissa in January, but the library wait is kind of long. Maybe I'll get lucky...but you guys, don't wait for me. :-)
My library wait for Bright Young Women is long too. 8 people waiting per copy, so 24 weeks? more or less. Lea, do you want a separate buddy read? Or Lindsey, Alissa, would you move it later in the year?On a separate note, have you seen this? Are GR's days numbered? https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
I don't think so; if I need to wait 24 weeks, that would be 6 months, maybe end of May?If you want to read it sooner, no worries, fit it in whenever it works for you.
Library update: 7 people waiting per copy, so we're down to max 21 weeks wait. So mid-late April, impatient girl? :-)
Ioana wrote: "Library update: 7 people waiting per copy, so we're down to max 21 weeks wait. So mid-late April, impatient girl? :-)"I have 14 weeks wait, so that would work for me. :-)
Ioana wrote: "Library update: 7 people waiting per copy, so we're down to max 21 weeks wait. So mid-late April, impatient girl? :-)"Hehe, late April, or May works for me. 😁
And I have Weyward moved to March.
Here is what I have for the ones I'm involved with so far (I know more will be added 🤣):Jan -
1. She started it with Alissa
2. The Stranger Upstairs- Alissa & Denise
3. Warrior Girl Unearthed with Lea
Feb -
1. Yellowface with Lea & Ioana
March-
1. Weyward with Lea & Ioana
2. Love, Theoretically with Lea (maybe moved to a later month...)
3. Part of Your World with Alissa
April -
1. The Hunting Wives with Alissa
2. Bright Young Women - Alissa, Lea, Ioana (late April, early May)
June -
1. Check & Mate with Lea & Aissa
July/Aug -
1. The Happy Place with Lea
Aug -
1. Holly with Lea & Ioana
Here is Lea's buddy read master list that has other one's listed --> https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Looks good, Lindsey. I'm glad you're so organized. What do you think about moving Love, Theoretically into May since we have 3 in March and none in May yet? :-)Ioana, here's what I have down for buddy reads with you...
January -
Poverty, by America
Small Mercies - with Alissa too
February -
Yellowface - with Lindsey too
March -
The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny and Murder
Weyward - with Lindsey too
April -
Bright Young Women - with Alissa and Lindsey
June -
Stepsister - with Alissa and Denise
July -
In the Lives of Puppets
August -
Holly - with Lindsey
And I moved Love Theoretically to May. Wow guys, I can't wait to see what all we plan for the 2nd half of the year. Ioana - you said it best - let the games begin!!! Woohoo!!
Denise wrote: "Put me in for Weyward also :)"Done!!! Glad you'll be joining us. I'm really excited to read that book!
Finished my 1st book off the list - She Started It
. 3 starsWow, what a book to start the year off with! It felt a little bit like the game clue - it was the butler in the library with the candlestick. I enjoyed the game even though I figured out the twist pretty early on. This book is a good reminder of what can happen if you are the one doing the bullying! A fun thriller.
And i had a lot of fun buddy reading this with Alissa!! 😊

Congrats on knocking out the first book, Lindsey!!
I may add this one just because it sounds like fun.

Finished my 2nd book - Adelaide
. 2 stars. 😒Ok, I know I am in the minority here with not liking this book. First let me start off by saying I have the utmost respect for what the author was wanting to accomplish - showing an aspect of mental health in hopes we as readers could learn, help us understand and be more empathic to this issue. On thst note, I get it amd I do believe she accomplished this. The book as a whole was super frustrating to me. The time line jumps back and forth and then present time and half of it I was confused where we were in the timeline. I hated Rory with every fiber of my being. Sometimes that works for authors, in this case it did not for me. I was excited to read this after reading the premise. All I can really say is this was just a frustrating read for me and it didn't resonate or land right with me. Having said that, there are so many strong 4 and 5 star reviews, my review is in the minority.
The positive was doing this as a buddy read with Alissa. Although I have to admit I was a bad buddy read partner. With being sick it took me longer to read. Here's hoping my next book is much better.
