She's right about the trigger warnings though - so make sure you look at them. This book has some doozies.

What tasks have you yet to finish? Here's mine:
MPG Fairy Tale
MPG Folklore
Read a book that is a "retelling" of Mulan (currently reading)
Read a book that is a "retelling" of Moana
and the December Bonus tasks:
Read a book about a magical family
Read a book that features magical elements or creatures

I just have 1 December bonus task to go.
I finished 98% of the tasks in the first 6 months.

- Read a book tagged "MERMAID"
- Read a book with a lion on the cover
- Read a book about a magical family
Lion is up next, I'm part-way through a mermaid but not enjoying it, and haven't a clue about the others yet!

Read a book about a magical family
Read a book that features magical elements or creatures

Would a book that features the Greek Gods work for a magical family?"
As long as there is a theme of family with your magic, the type is magic is inconsequential. I would say Greek Gods could be considered magical, but are they a family - that's the question.

They may not be a very functional family, but then, I can think of a few more of those... 😆

So, plenty :D

What are you doing for MPG Folklore? I picked a possible, but I'm not sold.

Well, apparently something I need to change, because it seems tagged Folklore instead of MPG now. Not sure if it used to be - I do a lot of pre-choosing for these at the beginning of the year!. It was a re-read of Dead Sea, very good book. It has tagged sea folklore by 1, so I'll probably look for something else now. Will let you know what I come up with

I have looked a lot for MPG Folklore and was/am not lucking out, which must be why I chose that one.

Yes, that was a brutal search and most books just are not MPG that - fairy tales, sure, mythology sure, but Folklore no - maybe it's considered an older word not used as much? Who knows! Was tagged in several books though not high enough for that MPG for my books :(

Seriously, how many people get to say they deal with stuff like that for their job!? I get that you have to work insanely hard, and spend more time on planes than you'd like, but do you ever just take a moment to think to yourself "My job is so cool!"? Because it kinda is! 😁

I used Thistlefoot for MPG Folklore. I enjoyed it and thought the writing was quite good, although I also remember the story was a bit slow moving overall.

Thankfully, no but yes, it is generally very rewarding if lots of work. Actually, sibling getting married on Saturday so that has taken up a lot of time recently with helping out as he does not own a car.

Neat looking cover.
I struggle a bit with strong magical realism stuff. I am working right now on one for Disney that feels like magical realism a bit to me as well, I am very new to that sub-genre - it's Zafón's, Graves's The Shadow of the Wind (The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón and Lucia Graves, for Arabic. It's beautifully written but I move slowly with this stuff and can't sit and binge for hours with it if that makes sense.
Like Lexi, I have plenty left - going to focus as much as possible on hopefully finishing mine. We'll see!

It must be protected, I clicked it for you.

Thanks

I *think* this cover is from underwater looking up?

Thoughts?
One I'd actually not mind re-reading!
Abandoned my mermaid book because it's awful but hit on a replacement thankfully!
100% yes Sammy - sorry for the late response - it's holiday season at work and it's draining me!

I would have swapped it out for something else if needed, but glad I don't have to as I only have 3 reading days left this year! 😆
Getting Down to the LAST DAYS!

What books do you have left to finish? Will you consider duplicating at the end (I certainly am, because I am BEHIND)?

December was a slower month for me as well, I'm still hoping to finish up about 5 to be fully finished.

And Ashley -- can you get the no duplicate bonus -- it will not let me - thanks
yes, I'm not sure what happened with it, but if anyone else needs me to go check it on their sheet, let me know!
