Primary love interest's name: I think Rainbow, possibly something similarly unusual and bubbly or happy sounding. She has super-strength.

The setting is probably contemporary, possibly give or take a couple decades. In this world superpowers are viewed more like disabilities and those with superpower are often discriminated against. The series follows the protagonist and his relationships with the other characters. He starts off with two friends who are somewhat toxic to him and who he is only around b/c the male friend especially is always very happy, making him pleasant to be around for an empath. Throughout the series he grows his relationship with Rainbow, learns how to help the ppl he accidentally commanded earlier in his life, including his parents, who he accidentally forced to remain married and then partway into the series forces to get a divorce, as well as a girl he accidentally rendered mute in elementary school.

In the finale of the series he has to help stop a young women with a weaker (non-permanent) version of his mind-control power.
