Yeah, Pamela, I'm really tempted to do a re-listen to this one, it was that enjoyable. Welcome, Lisa, Silvia, and June!
I have the English paperback version
but I quite like this one
which is the Turkish version. It's interesting to see how the titles translate - I love the French version!
.I'm imaging all ladies (or gentleman) in different parts of the world with very different cultures enjoying the same book. The power of reading.
Thanks for the reminder Lisa. I'm glad you did...lol.I have to read this again, its my favourite of the series!
I started this today and up to Chapter 4. Loving the setup so far. Bluestocking heroines are my favourite and I like the fact that Cross isn't classically handsome.

I imagine he looks like this guy.
Pippa describes him as tall, lean and angular with ginger/redish hair. And around 30. Not classically handsome but interesting and intelligent. I have been imagining him like the Scottish actor David Tennant who played Dr Who a few years ago. Yummy.
David Tennant (Tenth doctor) is gorgeous, and while I really like Cross, he's nowhere near the level of awesomeness that Ten is :D
And yeah Fassbender deserve his own book. He's really great actor. I love his portrayal as Rochester
Whoa, just finished Chapter 12. The sexual tension is off the charts. Not that I don't mind the more obvious love scenes but the subtly and great writing can sometimes be so much more.
Just coming up to the last quarter of the book.I just love how Pippa is so methodical, sometimes so clinical, but oh so hilarious.
I think this one is my favorite as well, Cross and Pippa are so well-matched :)One second character that stood out to me was Cross' sister, I think she'll be fierce heroine. And of course there is a mysterious masked lady and certain wealthy newpaperman. What do you think?
I wondered if we would see more of Lavinia. At the moment she is in a loveless marriage but her circumstances could change to allow her a HEA... Yes I clued in that Duncan West would be the final hero in the series. Buddy read for book 3 next month ladies?

Only at 7% - I just started this and absolutely love Pippa! She sure had Cross choking up when she told him there were plenty of things he could clarify for her: "for example I am very curious about the (view spoiler) And then she offered to pay him £50! LOL!
Finished it. I loved it! I thought Pippa and Cross were a great couple. Ended up giving it 4.5 stars.

Lady Philippa Marbury is odd. The bespectacled, brilliant fourth daughter of the Marquess of Needham and Dolby cares more for books than balls, flora than fashion and science than the season. Nearly engaged to Lord Castleton, Pippa wants to explore the scandalous parts of London she's never seen before marriage. And she knows just who to ask: the tall, charming, quick-witted bookkeeper of The Fallen Angel, London's most notorious and coveted gaming hell, known only as Cross.
Like any good scientist, Pippa's done her research and Cross's reputation makes him perfect for her scheme. She wants science without emotion—the experience of ruination without the repercussions of ruination. And who better to provide her with the experience than this legendary man? But when this odd, unexpected female propositions Cross, it's more than tempting . . . and it will take everything he has to resist following his instincts—and giving the lady precisely what she wants.
