I agree that invalidation is not the correct solution here.
Invalidation is warranted in the following scenarios:
1. An edition is not a valid entry, meaning it was never published, and there are no clear plans for publication. This includes short stories that were never independently published, pages for series that were not released as a single edition by the publisher, and similar cases.
2. In cases where a bot added a physical edition with only an ASIN, and it was not shelved.

The current edition does not fit into either of these categories.

I restored the edition to "public" state. However, I cannot merge the editions since the cover is not identical. I marked the edition without ISBN as a possible ACE.

My bad, you are of course correct. I was looking at کتابخانه نیمه شب. You will notice the title is slightly different (cf. کتابخانۀ نیمه شب) which caused the wrong edition to come up. I don't know which spelling is more correct, if it matters at all.
Anyway, deletion is queued.

Multiple spelling are very common in Hebrew too. In GR we try to follow the one on the cover.
