Liz | 7 comments The protagonist is a boy who meets a girl who knows magic. They are able to walk down cliff sides by using invisible footholds that she teaches him to see. She also teaches him how to hold his breath for a long time so they can deal with the spores. The poison spores (or whatever they are) come from a mine (or something) that was opened up (for reasons) and now they get carried by the wind every time the wind blows from a certain direction (maybe north?). There is a moment when the protagonists have to hold their breath and the girl is able to talk to the boy without taking in any air and he is impressed. People in the lands are really sick because of the spores.

Are the boy and the girl teenagers or younger children?

Liz | 7 comments I think teens. And I read it sometime between 2004-2010

SBC (essbeecee) | 1594 comments The poisonous spores make me think of Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Vol. 1 but I think that's only published as graphic novels, so I'm guessing that's not it?

Do you remember how the boy and girl met and what their relationship was like?

Liz | 7 comments It's not Nausicaa, which makes this so hard to Google, lol.

I think that the boy was a normal teen who got pulled into this world by meeting the girl and following her down a sheer drop in a cave or something, using their ability to find invisible footholds to help them down.

Liz | 7 comments I don't think so...

SBC (essbeecee) | 1594 comments Was the boy from our world or just a different part of the girl's world? Was her world underground?

message 9: by Liz (new)

Liz | 7 comments I think the boy is from our world, but the girl's more magical world isn't underground, the passageway to get there just is
