YA Science Fiction about a jungle/ swamp planet read in the late 1970's. Spoilers.

I read this book in the 1970's most likely 1978 or 1979. It wasn't an old book but I am not sure of the year it was written.

It was a science fiction book about a group of people stranded on a jungle/swamp planet where every plant was deadly and the group had to try to survive under those circumstances.

A scene I remember was the group was near water and had been tangled up by vines that were slowly killing them. They couldn't move and one of the characters was trying to get to his laser to try and cut them out.

It was a book I found at school and I didn't finish before summer break and was left with this cliff hanger for decades! any help is appreciated!

I read it in Armored. It's a short story.
