It is a series. Last I checked unfinished. It is centered around a girl who lives I a fort with other not infected. But she goes to a party, rejects a guy and he pushes her out of the vehicle and she is left outside of the fort overnight. When she makes it back on foot, they don't let her in and she has to find a new place. She finds a community of infected and where she finds someone who was her believes dead fiance. He is bonded/mates to the girl who helped her. She is held prisoner there, not sure why. Eventually does escape by being incredibly agile. At sometume leaves the community but comes back infected with a snake or lizard bite. She eventually starts to go through changes. Almost died. She lives with a grandma lady who looks out for her. They get bombed by someone last I read. I think her love interest has wings. The book has a religious zealots group who isn't good.
