the frugal wizards handbook for surviving medieval england by B. Sanderson. Gave it 1 star because I had a hard time with it. Expected so much more and was so disappointed. One of my worst books for this year
The Jinn Daughter: A Novel by Rania Hanna it's an ARC, though, that I got on Edelweiss, but def 5 stars. Middle eastern folkloric story with jinns, and it's more emotional than expected, in a good way
The Dark Horse by Craig Johnson. #5 in the Walt Longmire series. I rated it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I love the show and the books.
Finished these two yesterday--Jim Henson's Labyrinth: Coronation, Vol. 1 by Simon Spurrier, Daniel Bayliss (Illustrator) (4) and The Reading LIst by Sara Nisha Adams (5)
Rianna wrote: "Flowers for Algernon-5⭐️"OMG! I read that when I was in high school and absolutely LOVED it!
Killers of the Flower Moon 5/5. I've read three of his books and I have The Wager on my must read stack! He is awesome at research and can make non fiction a story to be read!
Just finished Book 2 of The Trials of Apollo: The Dark ProphecyAnything by Rick Riordan is *chef's kiss.* Definitely not as good as the original PJO and HOO series but still super enjoyable and fun. I expected Apollo to be completely different- more chill and down-to-earth like how he was in the original series- so seeing him as Lester- selfish, self-absorbed- has made me take longer to get through this series. However, still appreciate this book
@Jeannie Oppliger I thought Killers of the Flower Moon was fantastic. He’s such a good writer, I hardly remembered I was reading non-fiction (plus the story 🫤). I also gave it a 5/5, although I read it a while ago. I’m reading The Wager now.
I've just finished Lords of Night, by Jennifer Cervantes. Not one I have particularly enjoyed, unfortunately. I had high expectations as I really enjoy Mayan mythology, but it really seemed to just lack the magic I expected :(
"The Futurological Congress" by S. Lem , 1971 (English translation by Michael Kandel). By far, the best piece of political and technological SciFi satire ever written.
