The House of Love and Death by Andrew Klavan was a well-done mystery that caught me off guard in a couple of places. 5/5

So Late in the Day: Stories of Men and Women by Claire Keegan ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I just finished Hope by Andrew Ridker and gave it a 4. It was written very well but also I kind of got the impression he believes most people think like his characters do and I just don’t see it. It also didn’t really have an ending. The best part was the story arc of the daughter, whose name I already forgot.
I finished The Girl on the Boat: Start of the BRAND NEW Sofie James thriller series by J.D. Wood(no cover)
Rather disappointing: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I've been reading a lot of slightly cosier crime recently, and I've just finished Mystery at Saltwater Cottages by Clare Chase. I love this series, it's rare for me to not know who did it, but these books nearly always catch me out.
I just finished The Last House On Needless Street and gave it 5 stars. This is not an easy book to read and takes some investment of effort and time to get into the swing of the theme but it is well worth it for those who like a dark and twisty tale.
I just finished The Enemy at Home and gave it 5 stars. It was WWII novel set in Seattle. The main character is a woman with 2 teenagers and her husband is at war in North Africa. She takes a job as a riveter at the Boeing plant. It is a murder mystery that is well done with believable characters and a creative twist.
I'm reading three books right now (and am so close to finishing them!) but most recently I finished A House with Good Bones by T. Kingfisher. I did not care for it - I rated it two stars. Yikes!
I just finished Malibu Burning, by Lee Goldberg. I gave it 4 stars. I really liked it, but don't give 5 stars very often. I didn't think I would like this one, but it was interesting and engaging. And had an ending I did not expect.
The Predator by Patricia Cornwall, rated 3 stars (didn’t start from the beginning of the series so I was lost lol)
finished both parts of before coffee gets cold. felt like it's a hyped book. many points are missing in it moreover it feels somewhere lost in translation one
just finished Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton today. Gave it 3 out of 5. A very unlucky fellow who has bad experiences with women....
The last book I read was THE ENEMY AT HOME. by Kevin O'Brien and it was one of the best book to me this year.
"if we were villians" - 2/5, (I dropped it after reading 40%, there were lots and lots of references of shakespeare plays and i hate it because everything comprised of doing the drama on these old plays, which i can't understand because my country's education system didn't had the Shakespeare's plays, the greek tragedies, so and so.)
I read Tess Gunty's "The Rabbit Hutch" and gave it 3 Stars. I expected more from it and was mildly disappointed
