Phew! It's the last hour! You're in the home stretch! You can do it! You can do it!

I, for one, am exhausted but I've had such a fun time moderating this for you. If you were too busy reading to respond to some of the challenges that were posted throughout the event, feel free to go through and add your answers now. Just because the Read-a-Thon is over doesn't mean the discussions have to end.

For the last hour, here's a closing questionnaire for you (adapted from Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-Thon).

1. Which hour was most daunting for you?

2. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the the next Read-a-thon

3. What did you enjoy most about the Read-a-Thon?

4. How many books did you read?

5. What were the names of the books you read?

6. Which book did you enjoy most?

7. Which did you enjoy least?

8. How likely are you to participate in the next Read-a-thon?

Thank you to everyone who participated! Give yourselves a round of applause, ladies and gentlemen, you did fantastic!

Corynne | 106 comments 1. Which hour was most daunting for you?

I guess I would say I guess 6-12 since that's when I crashed. I'm hoping I am more awake next time so I can more fully participate.

2. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the the next Read-a-thon

Nothing comes to mind other than keep up the reading challenges!

3. What did you enjoy most about the Read-a-Thon?

The challenges

4. How many books did you read?

One graphic novel and about 120 pages of my weekly challenge book.

5. What were the names of the books you read?

Walking Dead Vol 1: Days Gone Bye and The Lord God Made Them All by James Herriot

6 . How likely are you to participate in the next Read-a-thon?

Very! I hope I am able to dedicate more time to it. I had many lapses today (watching movies with family, catching up on sleep from the work week, going out to do (what else) by more books and records). I'd love to dedicate at least 16 hours next time to it. I think I only clocked about 4 this time.

Jenny (pagelady) | 155 comments Michelle, you did a great job on this Read-a-Thon. Your energy was out of this world!! Rest well tonight :)

message 5: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) I didn't participate as much as I would, I think in total I was in read-a-thon mode (reading or writing about it) for about 8 or 9 hours which is not much! The problem is I fell asleep on the couch last night at 11pm, which was hour 21. My boyfriend didn't think it was a good idea to wake me up, but I would have liked to go to Hour 24! I'm going to be better next time.

1. Which hour was most daunting for you?

The first 6 hours, since they were at night in my time zone, but that's actually when I read the most!

2. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the the next Read-a-thon

It looks like a lot of people were working or having family engagement on Saturday, how about making a poll to shift the schedule a bit? Maybe on Sunday people have more time to read, I don't know.

I loved the challenges, and I'm going to answer them all, hopefully today. But some take a really long time and since I didn't read a lot, I didn't want to spend half an hour to do them. Maybe next time some of the challenges could be shorter or divided in too? Or some could be in another form, like a pole or a guessing game.

3. What did you enjoy most about the Read-a-Thon?

Setting my main goal of the day to reading. Normally I read after I've done other things at home, but yesterday (and I'm going to extent it for today!) reading is the main thing I do and everything comes after.

4. How many books did you read? & 5. What were the names of the books you read?

Not even one complete! I started Life by Keith Richards after seeing I was making a big progress on The Shadow of the Wind, which I didn't want to rush. But I read so few that I could have continued with the Shadow haha.

As a whole I read 215p of The Shadow of the Wind and 72p of Life, but I read them on ebook so maybe the page number are skewed.

6. Which book did you enjoy most?

I really appreciate them both. The Shadow of the Wind swept me up, made me smile and intrigued. Life made me laugh a lot, and I learned a lot about rock industry in the 60s and 70s (which I love). I'm normally not into non-fiction, but I have the feeling that this book will make me want to read more books about music.

8. How likely are you to participate in the next Read-a-thon?

Very likely! But next time I'll chose special books for this day that are short so I can really see the progress. And ask my boyfriend to wake me up if I fall asleep on the finishing line! ;)

Not really

3. What did you enjoy most about the Read-a-Thon?

Setting aside time to read! I usually save it until I have finished everything else.

4. How many books did you read?
I finished a book (300 pages), read a whole book (220 pages), and started an audio book so I could get some walking in.

5. What were the names of the books you read?

California, The Peaceable Kingdom: Stories, and started Yes Please.

6. Which book did you enjoy most?

I enjoyed them all

7. Which did you enjoy least? N/A

8. How likely are you to participate in the next Read-a-thon?

Very likely!

Megan (megan_morris) | 170 comments 1. Which hour was most daunting for you?
The last probably two hours of the day as I wanted desperately to finish my second book. I ended up falling about 100 pages short.

2. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the the next Read-a-thon

Only personal ones to make myself read more, not to mention actually participating in the group activities, I think that would have made a big difference.

3. What did you enjoy most about the Read-a-Thon?
Having an excuse to give my boyfriend about why I have to be reading. lol Mostly I really wish I hadn't been so busy earlier in the day I might have got to participating more.

4. How many books did you read?
2 almost 100 pages short :(

5. What were the names of the books you read?
The Darkest Part of the Forest
The Silence of the Lambs

6. Which book did you enjoy most?
They were both really good, though I have to finish up the last 100 pages of The Silence of the Lambs

7. Which did you enjoy least?
One was a beautiful mash of modern day and old time fairytale and the other is the book one of my favourite movies is based off of. I didn't not enjoy a book!

8. How likely are you to participate in the next Read-a-thon?
Very likely, and this time I actually want to participate with the group more than just reading and posting at the end.
