Review: Cat and Bone apart nearly five years but they’re feelings for each other hasn’t changed. Just Cat is working with a special agency that happens to kill the undead. Bones comes back and he isn’t planning on letting her go but there’s some definite explaining needed and of course some kick ass moments and sexy time. This was a great book!

Grayson is a gargoyle who co-owns a security company. He meets Shelby when she brings a cloak for the bride of a wedding that he is running security for. After a picture of the two together, Shelby is targeted by the local wizard council, who want to use her latent witch magic to fuel a massive spell. Grayson then takes the job as Shelby's bodyguard and along the way discovers that she is his mate. The world was well thought out and interesting. The plot moved along at a good pace. Grayson and Shelby made a cute couple, and I enjoyed seeing them get to know one another. I'll continue with the next book in the series. 4 stars

Bexley lost her memories and her ability to shift at 10 when her family was attacked and killed. She was taken in by the Bronzeheart dragon clan. Now old enough to attend the Dark Imaginarium Academy with their son Gage, she is enrolled with the hope that the Academy can help break the spell to return her memories and ability to shift. Gage, Jagger, and Breaker (Bexley's mates and childhood friends) are thrilled to be together with her again and do everything they can to both protect her and support her. I completely enjoyed the story and look forward to continuing the series. If I had to make one criticism, it's that the based on this book and some of the author's other series, she likes to end with some type of cliffhanger. 4 stars

Meg is a blood prophet who escapes the compound where she is held and takes refuge in the Lakeside Courtyard working as the courtyard's human liason. What follows is a wonderful tale of Meg learning how to live in the world, the Others of the courtyard learning how to interact with a human, and the intrigue caused by the controller seeking to reacquire his missing asset. Amazing world with the perfect mix of action and humor with a large dose of amazing characters. A must read (and re-read) book. 5 stars

Review:This was an interesting read. A young girl pretending to be a boy so she could live on the streets as she had left home at 13 because he father disowned her because she was a necromancer and he was a vicar. The time setting was late 1880s in London. Interesting twist with Frankenstein. I really liked the side characters of Seth and Gus . The ending sets up for the next one in the story.

Review:Reread 12 years later and after watching the movie a few times. I really enjoyed this much more the second time around and it could very well be that I had the movie to draw from for the characters. There are scenes that stood out in both the book and movie for me Rue and the wildflowers, Peeta and the mud, the trackers nest. I was so impressed with how skillful Katniss was with hunting and being in nature and using all her senses to stay alert and alive. Well written and a great book for all to read.

Still love these shifters. They have such a great connection. There’s loyalty, protection, love and respect but also when someone tries to mess with that, then the a$$ whipping that comes is so much fun to read.
Ally was definitely a smart mouth but she was not taking crap from anyone. I really enjoyed her and Derren together. Their banter was fun but also hot. Not sure if they even knew what was coming. They both have pent up anger that is definitely understandable. If people love you they should believe you and protect you. Well some did learn that lesson the hard way.

A retelling of Jane Erye. I cant really compare this to the original as I havent read it. This was an interesting story. Jane was a teacher at a orphanage. She taught young girls in witchcraft. I thought it was well done but yet the ending felt rushed. There were supernatural elements of ghosts & fae. Was interesting to reading about poison gardens.

A Deal with the Elf King (Married to Magic, #1) by Elise Kova
Read: 6/25/24
Rated : 4 stars
Review : Magic mess!

Well the deal wasn't what anyone excepted since Luella isn't easy to deal with because she's not one for keeping her mouth quiet. King Eldas for sure didn't think that he would get a future wife as Luella. She's just a good hearted person, smart and at times she's fiesty. Eldas and Luella become basically a team to help both sides their world. Things become twisted but some decisions need to be made. This was fun and also entertaining.

Review:
Matti has found her mom, defeated her evil aunt, saved her future mil, and fallen in love with her elf assassin. Now she just needs to get rid of the pesky bounty on her head that has an entire assassin's guild out to get her. This was another fun adventure in the Legacy of Magic series. Matti and Saralevi make a great couple, and it is fun to watch them settling into their relationship with each other. As with the other books in the series, it is a good blend of action and humor. Definitely recommend the series. 4 stars

Her Wolf (Silver Shifter #1) by Alexa B. James
Pages: 238
Read: June 30 2024
Rating: 3 stars

Review: This was a quick listen. Was enjoyable but I felt there was much for world building. Why are the shifter groups warring? How do the vampires fit in? Ari has been caged all her life and is a pit fighter. She has been abused and used all her life. She is rescued by werewolf M aximus and is thrown into a different world. This is a reverse harem with 4 males. The 4 males are hot, diverse and alphas from 4 different packs (wolves, dragons, bears & panthers). It is discovered that she is the last of the Silver Shifters, one is born every 100 years. Not sure if i will continue with the series at this point.

Rosina | 1714 comments I am about 50% done with my current read for shelf J and then will find one for the new shelf.

Today I had major dental surgery and will be recovering over the weekend. I had IV sedation and it was 5 hours. 7 extractions, 2 fillings and a cleaning..

Also if Shelf L is called next week we will have a chance for 5 in line.... So will look for a book to have it ready to go...

Happy 4th of July to the US.
