Brian | 90 comments I read it in the late 80s, but it was probably much older. It was a story about how a home for children who had been removed from their parents adopted a dog and how she helped them. I remember one of the girls in the home was named Oriel. One boy takes the dog to a dog show. In one chapter the dog becomes pregnant and the kids care for the puppies. Ring any bells?

How many kids lived there?

All ages and both sexes?

albie_of_nonfic | 4 comments Skeezer: Dog with a mission, by Elizabeth Yates. I think it had a girl called Oriole.

I think this is non-fiction not a novel.

A cut down version of this was published in Reader's Digest.

Brian | 90 comments That was it! Reading it, I had no idea it was nonfiction. Thanks.
