YA with youthful halfgods taking on elemental powers and talking to each other in their dreams.

I read this book a few years ago, borrowed from the Aviano AFB Library. I was in the middle of the series when I moved and forgot the name of the book. This must have been around 2012, maybe 2014.

The setting was an island, and the main characters were siblings (I think), demigods who took on elemental powers in defense of their four realms. One talks to dolphins, I think another character had fire.

I looked through the whole list, and found a couple that at first looked promising, but on reading the descriptions, there was nothing that matched the "dream" criterion.

These teenagers have their own elemental worlds (in a kind of medieval world with seafarers), but they visit each other in their dreams.

Hmm, just looked it over, it's not one of those, either. I remember scenes with dolphins in a cave, for one of the protagonists.
