Ooh, so close!
I was hoping to finish my current book in time, but I have at least an hour to go.

Wow - it's been a long time since we saw so many at once!
AAAAAAAND......
Once again, Ursula is using me as her personal Octopus-nip toy. She gifts me with a move that puts me at a book I need to read for a Popsugar Challenge prompt - yay - then 'gifts' me with a 6:5 so I have to read from another board before moving on from that read.
Heh, heh, heh. I've got you, Ursula! I'm pretty sure that at least one of my planned October flurries reads is on someone's board....
Ursula - you may keep me in the Baggage Car eternally, but I'm not wasting my time!
Time to learn a new board game perhaps? Let's see what's in Joy's Magic Hermione Trunk! Who's in Baggage Car with me?!

And I actually have The Song of Achilles sitting right here on a pile on my desk! Of course, I have to get to the pile of library books first, but there is light at the end of the tunnel!

That's a good one to look forward to reading too!

@BC - Royal Coach is delighted by your stay, rustling up some taquitas for you.

Jen K I'm sorry to say it's your turn to be shook up this week. After you finish your current book please move back 4 spaces."
Just checking in to say that I did see this. Thanks Rachel!

That did pop up pretty recently and the answer is no, you do mot get another 6-4 combo advantage.
Alas.

Are we sure about this? I thought I saw the opposite. But I may be wrong, I haven't gotten that combo once since last spring!

I don’t know if getting a second special advantage would be in line with the original spirit of the rules … but then Tien should not have had to read that second extra book. Oh dear.

I agree with Robin. I had this exact situation this summer and Anita said they all counted. They all have to be 1 roll turns though. She doesn’t allow them with rolls of 3+ dice, or if you’re breaking up a pair.
I had 2 (or maybe 3) special advantages in a row! I haven’t used them all yet either.

Thanks for the help Nancy! My chances of finishing my Porter game board have greatly improved with your input!!

I just checked the old posts. From the end of July to early August i had these 4 successive rolls:
4
6
4
6
This gave me 3 special rolls.
I’m on my second Conductor board, and I plan to use one of my advantages to finish up, as soon as I decide on my next board.

There was something about not being able to use the same die for 2 advantages. That ruling would fit the multi-dice roll.
So I went to the original rules and clarifications because lawyers always go back to the original document when researching:
#5. You will still be eligible for special rolls, however a special roll will be designated by two adjacent rolls of the die. For example, if your first roll in round two is a 6 and your second roll in round two is a 4, then you will be eligible for the 6-4 special roll and the surprise advantage that goes with that.
Not helpful.
Digging deeper I found this series of clarifications by Anita in the Where We Go From Here thread which answer all:
Comment 103 Feb 22
AND
Comment 105 Answering Cora
Together they provide complete answer - yes you get another 6/4 special advantage, Nicole!
Train Management has Special Advantages waiting in the wings to award! It will be announced for you during next day!

Glad to help. I hope it’s a good one!

Rolling early because I have a dentist appointment. I'll be back sometime tonight to check for additional roll requests and with Nicole's special advantage.

10/16 was National Bosses day. Take the year you started your first adult job. (ie: not while working in High School or College)-and add up the numbers to determine the number of spaces you move forward.
Example: My first job began in 1997 so 1+9+9+7=26
You may use this advantage at any time.

Theresa, my head went the same place as yours. I totally thought the answer was no! Guess we were wrong.

It happens! It was the multiple dice quirk that threw me off.

So happy for you, Amy! For me it's meant reading a whole lot of books I just kept never getting to - not that I had forgotten them. Almost all have been 4 and 5 stars, a couple 3 stars and only 1 so far lower than 3 stars. I do find when I pick up the long ignored books sitting in my TBR Towers (and they are books I own too), they are really good!
I've already read 24 books -- and I'm only on #30 on Porter. Ursula has me trapped low on my Porter board - I have read 10 books already from my Porter board (including the 1 I was shaken back to Clerk to read), and I have 2 more to read before I can have Ursula give me a new roll. [I do have 100 different titles so the problem Robin had will not recur here!]
I read 14 books before rolling off my Clerk board.
Even with Ursula's tormenting me, this has been a really fun challenge so many levels - and I did vote for it!

You are so right, Theresa! I have so many books on my TBR and I have been delighted to finally read these. I've read 42 so far with many of them being 4 & 5 star. I've eliminated 2 and put them in the dnf, pile and that in itself is a plus in my book.
I was able to reach the Engineer Level because of 2 lucky moves, once I landed on 15 (and all because of Ursula and her Sunday Surprise) and I rolled a 10, which moved me along to the next board.
I am quite pleased with what Subdue had done for me. I am not subdued at all about this.

Some books I liked that I never would have gotten to were A Trip to the Stars, Century in Scarlet, Dark Angels, Small World, King, Ship, and Sword, The Trouble with Goats and Sheep, Across the Endless River, and The Lowland. Hmm, they are all historical fiction!

So far, my faves are: Double Blind, Us, Brave Men, The Bridge of San Luis Rey, The Go-Between, Short Nights of the Shadow Catcher: The Epic Life and Immortal Photographs of Edward Curtis, Indian Horse, The Wife, A General Theory of Oblivion.
