Dee (austhokie) | 638 comments was it new when it came out? do you remember anything about the cover?

message 3: by Pauliennn (new)

Pauliennn No not new when i read it and don't remember anything about the cover :(

The only thing I'm sure of is the scene where the girl gets served and that she thinks that their food is bad.. I know that she is the only one that gets bad food and there was also something wrong with her beer ...

Was there poison in her food?

message 5: by JennyG (new)

JennyG | 608 comments That sounds familiar. Maybe one of Julia Garwood books?

Dee (austhokie) | 638 comments you mean Julie Garwood? I've read her backlist and it doesn't sound familar

Juels | 3312 comments Sounds familiar to me too. I wonder if someone else previously posted this same topic? Can you recall any other details?

message 8: by Pauliennn (new)

Pauliennn No not julie garwood and also not poisoned ..

I remember that she thought that the drink was badly brewed or something like that .. The other people at the table had good beer and drank normally and she didn't understand how they could drink it ..

:)

The drink bad kind of reminds me of Highlander Most Wanted by Maya Banks, but the Heroine is a slave at that castle and she gets water that is salted. Hero goes to that castle to save his sister-in-law and end up being temporary Laird (for a little while)

I agree, this does sound familiar...

Was she definitely Scottish or possibly English?

How would you describe her personality - tomboyish, matter-of-fact, shy, lady-like, aloof, etc.?

Pauliennn Yes ! It was Highlander most wanted !
Thank you all very much for your help !! :)

Nicely done, Mariyam!

Maya Banks came to mind as she's one of the few highlander-romance authors I'd read, but I couldn't remember the details of that scene. I kept thinking of her Rionna, but that story didn't fit with Pauliennn's description.
