9/24/23 - 4 stars - Well, that was just cute! This lighthearted romance that starts as a fake relationship had me smiling the entire time. Both the H/h (as well as all the side characters) we so likeable and I couldn't help but root for all of them. This was my first Jill Shalvis book, but def won't be my last.
Dang! Fast reader, Breann, nice! I'm starting my book today, as it's been a busy weekend. It shouldn't take me too long to read, though.

I could probably find a great book set in India or the Netherlands. If you absolutely can't see yourself getting into Virgin River, then we can totally figure something else out!

Hey, I mean that's great! LOL.
Also, thank you for the lists. I think I like the Best Paranormal and Fantasy Romance list. It's a good, long list. And tons of my TBR books are on there!

Seriously?! Your first Jill Shalvis? She is one of my favorites! Her humor works for me.
And for the task about your home town - you can use state is within the US and country if outside. 😊
MountainKat wrote: "And for the task about your home town - you can use state is within the US and country if outside. 😊"Oh, awesome! That will make things loads easier. xD
MountainKat wrote: "And for the task about your home town - you can use state is within the US and country if outside. 😊"Awesome! So that gives us CA or AZ?

CA, WA, or AZ.
I'm undecided on my book - I may go for The Ocean at the End of the Lane which is shorter.. So maybe I can finish it today.

I wanna put a disclaimer.. I'm usually not this fast. Both these books happened to quick (and the Gaiman was short)
Task 2: Completion PostTask: Each player reads a book by a new to you author - no pass for this task.
Mr. Perfect by Linda Howard 434 pgs
New to me author - shelf here
9/27/23 - 2.5 stars - Dragged for the first half and the premise was a bit silly. Second half was better, once the mystery got going.

I posted the completion post and linked your bookshelf too Kathryn. Mainly so that I can choose the next book based on the task. ;)Breann wrote: "Same here! And I will be out of town next week. I'm sure I'll have time to read, just hoping I can easily do the completion posts on my phone"
I'm starting an intensive bootcamp in 2.5 weeks.. My reading will definitely go down but hopeful that the bc will help me to land a job.
Vi wrote: "Oh yeah, I remember thinking the plot was silly too. I was expecting something more hefty.. and then the killings started.. and the reason.."I was looking for a suspense like Sandra Brown or JD Robb.... this was not it
Nah, definitely not it. I like her older books - one of the first authors when I started reading adultish books (after scandalous and forbidden Diana Palmer in High School) so I enjoy them for nostalgia. If read them now, I probably wouldn't like them so much.

Breann wrote: "I'm going to read The Rise of Magicks"Loved that trilogy!! Read it in 2020 - the first part of the first book was a little too real... 😳
