Shan ~A~ | 1901 comments We are checked in.

Micheale would you prefer to check us in each time? I didn't think to ask before doing it.

message 53: by Michaele (new)

Michaele | 6612 comments Thanks! And no need to wait, whoever reads the last book needed should check us in, much faster that way. :)

message 54: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 32113 comments I will check your books when I get home - barely enough time to do this...

Here is your next task!

Task 2 - 8. Read 4 books with a beach on the cover.

To qualify for this task, the book’s cover needs to clearly and obviously show a beach. Ideally, you would want to show sand/dirt and the edge of water on your covers. You can use any edition’s cover to qualify for this task. Please include the qualifying cover in your completion posts.

Michaele | 6612 comments We should also decide on this one too -

✅53. Each teammate reads a book set in one of your teammates' home town (born in, raised in, currently live in - all work), teams decide. No pass for this task.
Jill- NYC
Shan-A - Louisiana
Eugenia - I live in Alaska, raised in Argentina and Washington State.
Michaele - Utah

NYC will probably be the easiest - would everyone be ok with that?

Jill (jilljorox) | 1896 comments NYC is great for me lol

Shan ~A~ | 1901 comments How are you guys getting your books done so fast? You guys are amazing. I'm just now looking for one that fits the task (or I will be once I get off work in an hour).

I don't have that pesky nuisance, work, inhibiting me lol. Seriously though I'm a super fast reader with nothing but time and almost 30 thousand books in my kindle library.

Michaele | 6612 comments Shan ~A~ wrote: "How are you guys getting your books done so fast? You guys are amazing. I'm just now looking for one that fits the task (or I will be once I get off work in an hour)."

I can listen to books while I am at work. I tend to re-read stuff for this challenge, since it is easier for me to find books that fit that way.

message 63: by Shan ~A~ (new)

Shan ~A~ | 1901 comments I try to do as many audiobooks as I can, but sometimes I can't find things in that format.

I miss the days when I could listen to them while working, but now I'm on the phone all the time since I'm working from home instead of my previous career as HR supervisor where I was mostly on my computer and my ears were free more often.

Working does get in the way of reading. Why can't I find a job where I just get paid to read whatever I want all day? This is my dream job if someone out there is listening. 🤣🤣🤣

Small problem with this book - the Kindle page count (what is used for this challenge) is 144. Normally I would just ask you to correct that, but the minimum page count for TART is 150. So this book does not qualify for the challenge. I did not specify no pass for this task - just overlooked that. So the options are that Eugenia uses her pass for this round OR reads another book that qualifies for the first task. Either will need to be done before Task 3 could be assigned on 9.27.2023 - just let me know.

message 65: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 32113 comments Otherwise, your completions were all good for Task 1. 😊

message 66: by Eugenia (new)

Eugenia (eugereviews) | 2166 comments I’ll just use the pass for this round

message 67: by Jill (new)

Jill (jilljorox) | 1896 comments So would one of us need to read another book to make 4? Or with a pass it doesn't count? If yes I can squeeze in a second beach book.

message 68: by Eugenia (new)

Eugenia (eugereviews) | 2166 comments I get up early and have quiet time to listen or read. I also listen while I drive.

I think Eugenia is passing for task 1, which didn't specify 4 books, so we should be ok. Unless I misunderstood and she's passing for task 2.
