Hi Kat! I have a couple of (hopefully) quick and easy questions about our latest task: Task 27 - 105. Each teammate lists two favorite authors. Select books written by the authors on two different teammate's list and read books by those authors. (Two books each per teammate.) No pass for this task.
1. Are pseudonyms treated as separate authors or as one? So if Nora Roberts is listed, can J.D. Robb books be read?
2. Do the authors have to be unique or can more than one person use the same author?

You can use pseudonyms of a named author as if it were selected, but include a link showing that they are the same person. They do not need to be separated.
There can be crossover among your picks of favorites.

‼️ PLEASE TAKE NOTE! ‼️With the challenge ending on Sunday, November 19th, there will a minor change to the last task. Beginning on Friday, November 17th, when teams post their completions and get a new task, they will all get the same task - except for the final teams racing for the win. Those teams will all get the same task, but a different one from the other teams so they will not be able to prep in advance for the dash to the finish. For this task, instead of just completing it, you will continue reading to add to the total number of books read for your team. There will be no passes for the last task and to complete it, every team member must complete a book for the task and contribute to the overall book count. So, the task is considered ‘completed’ when every team member has read one book for the task, but you can continue reading in order to increase your overall book count for the task in case that is needed for a tie breaker. In the event that two or more teams are tied based on the number of tasks completed, the team with the highest book count will win The Amazing Race Team Challenge!
**Remember if your completion posts are incomplete or have the wrong page count, your books will not count. So help each other out by checking the posts!**
Posting that your team has completed the last task in the Q&A thread is not necessary as I will be checking all the team threads when the challenge ends.
‼️ If your page count comes from a Kindle edition published on the initial publication date on the editions page, it will count. If your page count comes from a Kindle edition labeled '1st edition', it will count. If your page count comes from the earliest dated English language Kindle edition, it will count. I am looking for one of those three things when confirming your books! As long the page count you list is correct, I will accept any link to the book. ‼️

Hi Kat!
Since the two teams in the lead are different sizes (3 person vs. 4 person), will the tie-breaker have some means to accommodate that? Or will it be a straight "the team with the highest book count will win" situation?

It is 4 hours and 33 minutes in length and part of the free, exclusive to Audible collection. So if paged, would be more than the required minimum
May I use it? What should be page count for the entry be? 156? That is what the ruling was in a different GR Challenge.

There will be some accommodation, not sure exactly how I will handle it this round yet.

From the Q&A, message #20 of this thread:
"Q: Are audio only books allowed for this challenge?
A: If the audio only book is at least 6 hours long - it will count as a book towards a book total or as 150 pages towards the page total depending on what the task requires."
So, an audio only book that is 4 hr/33 mins long would not qualify for this challenge.
