REQUIREMENTS FOR POSTS

1. ONLY ONE TASK MAY BE INCLUDED IN A POST

2. Include your Readerboard name at the TOP of your post.

--A) Not required if your Readerboard name is the same as the name that appears in the shaded area above your posts.

3. Include Task # and a short Task Description.

4. To claim a task in Completed Tasks, the book you use MUST exist on Goodreads.

--A) If your book is not in the Goodreads database, you may ask a Goodreads Librarian for help in this thread: Anyone with librarian stats....

5. A link to the book edition that qualifies it for the task MUST be included along with the specific task posting information. See Verifying Page Counts section of the Rules for more information.

--A) For instructions on adding a book link, see post 1 of Add book/author/cover Instructions in General Help.
--B) If no link, then NO points, NO Big Book tickets, NO Golden Oldies tickets, NO It's A Fact tickets.
--C) If the task involves an element on the cover of the book, you MUST include the cover itself in your post. The cover will be considered the book link when adding it according to the instructions above.

6. Include a brief explanation to clarify how your book(s) fit the task if it is not obvious.

7. Task creators should update posts 2 and/or 3 in their Help Threads with approved books, but the responsibility for that pre-approval information lies with the poster.

--A) The moderators will not search the help threads to look for pre-approvals. If you had a book pre-approved, including a link to the Help Thread approval may help keep you out of the Questions/Problems thread.

8. A newly completed task must be listed clearly and separately - do not include it in a list with previously completed tasks or partially completed tasks.

9. If your book has the genre "childrens" or "kids" on its main page, it must meet the criteria specified in the Rules of the Challenge.

--A) All AR Bookfinder information MUST be posted when the book is claimed for points or no points will be awarded (You can copy the AR BookFinder ratings)
ex. Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery
IL: MG - BL: 7.3 - AR Pts: 17.0
--B) Books that have an IL designation of MG+, UG, or UY (in the UK) may be used with no restrictions (other than general SRC and specific task requirements). However, you must state the IL designation when you post the book.
--C)If a book has "childrens" or "kids" listed as a main page genre and has been ok'd in the Not Really for Kids thread, you must include the post number or google document line approval when you post in Completed Tasks.

10. If you want to claim a Golden Oldies, Big Books ticket, or It's A Fact ticket you must specifically say so in your post - merely including a tally at the beginning or end of your post is not sufficient.

--A) Make sure to note "Golden Oldies," or "GO" or "Big Books ticket" or "BB ticket", or "It's A Fact or "NF ticket" in your post.
--B) The BB, GO, NF claim must be made with the specific book posting - a list at the end or beginning of the post is not sufficient.
--C) If you are claiming a GO ticket, you must include the year in which the book was first published in your post along with the book posting for the task.
--D) If you are claiming a BB ticket, you must include the number of pages in the book. Be sure that the link you provide goes to the edition with the correct number of pages.

11. If you choose to read a book contained in an "omnibus" edition, or a play in a collection (see Rule 4 in the Format Specific Requirements), you must identify this in your post.

--A) If you do choose to read an element isolated from an aggregate work, you MUST include a link to a separately published work that relates to the isolated title. This will determine the page count and eligibility of the book.

12. If your book is an ebook with no page count or audiobook without a print or digital edition, you must have it approved for length before posting by asking in the Book page verification thread: Book Verification-no print edition in General Help.

--A) Your post must include the line number of the approval in the spreadsheet or the post number in which the item was approved for length.

13. If the task requires that a particular genre be found on the book's main page, check that the genre is there at the time you post.

--A) If it is not, but you had the genre pre-noted in the help thread or the genre verification thread, include a link to the approval post in your completed task posting.

14. Where a task requires multiple books, all books required for the task MUST be included in the same post - do not make a separate claim for each book.

15. While it is OK to shift books between tasks during a challenge, you must follow the UNCLAIMING procedures if the books have already been claimed for a task.

16. If a task contains multiple options, your post must specify the options that you are using.

17. NEVER delete a post from the Completed Tasks thread.

--A) You can edit the post to replace all the text with “***DELETED***” but leave the post in the thread so the other post numbers do not shift.

18. Include an up to date total of points in your post. (For purposes of Moderators' Pet, math errors will be forgiven!)

--A) Remember to check the Readerboard or Questions/Problems threads to make sure you have accurate totals for your post.

REQUIREMENTS FOR UNCLAIMING

1. First, identify any tasks involved in your book change with a separate post for each task involved.

2. Copy ALL the task information where the book was claimed for points.

--A) Include the task number, the options used, and a link to each book originally claimed in the task.
--B)The easiest way to copy a post and retain all information:

----1) Click "edit" at the bottom of the original post
----2) Copy from that screen to copy the html

3. Paste that information into a new post and note that you are "UNCLAIMING" the task at the top of the post.

--A) The moderator will remove any credit for the books, points, BB, GO, NF from your totals.
--B) The book(s) in the task are now available to be used for any task as if they had never been claimed.

4. The 'unclaimed' task will need to be reposted as if you were originally claiming credit for the task.
