TerryJane | 4026 comments Update to Message #29

Progress:
📚BOOKS: 19/7
🔖PAGES:
🎧HOURS: 94.25 hrs

🔸🔸🔸 DAY 9 (11.0 hrs) 🔸🔸🔸
✔️ Charmed Life - 4.25 hrs (orphan, adoption, separated)
✔️ The Vanishing Type - 6.75 hrs (adoption, loner, club, found family, historical family)

I marked those two in pale yellow, and haven't added them to the tracking tab yet. Where would you like me to add them?

Great! 👏👏
Since, Deidre is not sure of finishing "The murmur of bees" in time, we can put "Charmed life" for adoption.
I'm reading an additional book too that fits some prompts, just in case, I added it to the tracking tab in the "non-prompt" section for the moment so we can moved it later to the prompts if needed, you can do the same with "The vanishing type"

Thanks so much! 😘

Cordelia | 159 comments Oh, I read a different edition of The World That We Knew. My copy is 400 pages even, I just picked the first edition they chose for the link because I'm tired and didn't realize there'd be such a difference.

I corrected it on the tracking tab
How about the hours?

I guess I don't really get what the issue is here? I haven't listened to any of these on audio. I'll remove hours spent reading.

🎧HOURS: hours listened (audiobooks)

Precisely, if you didn't listen to any audiobbok you don't have to report any hour, just pages.

Done! I just started The Husband Quest, which will fit looking for a partner or family title, just in case we need either of those. Once everything is covered for sure, I may be able to read one of my Sept., Q3, or BR books, and add it to non-prompt.

Shari | 483 comments Hello Team. I finished Saturday Night at the Lakeside Supper Club last night. I don't think it fits the "club or group" prompt. The Lakeside Supper Club is the name of a restaurant. So, I have already been reading The Book Spy on my Kindle at work during lunch which fits the same prompt, so I have switched these 2 books on the spreadsheet. I'm over half-way through The Book Spy, so I should be able to finish it today. And still hoping to read Spy today too. Guess I'll be doing a lot of reading today.

Carmen | 8125 comments Good morning Sixters! 👋

READATHON ENTRY: DAY 9
🔹️I've updated our progress (post #7)

🔹️ Books read check marked (message #32)

🔹️Spreadsheet updated too, but we keep on having different counting between the two totals

Team Pointer Sixters Progress :
📚BOOKS: 62
🔖PAGES: 9,862
🎧HOURS: 176.06
📒PROMPTS: 29 (Singles: 12 /Doubles: 12 / Triples: 5) 3,900 points
🧮POINTS: 25,499

IMPORTANT

🔸️I've tried to fix the tracking discrepancies, taking into account the info in the books' pages, but I need help, please check the right number of pages of the editions you've read with the actual report you posted.

Gwen NOW ON STORYGRAPH | 150 comments I have updated my books and daily totals and everything is equaling out so please do not change my numbers again. Just in case they get changed again, I will add them here.

Island Time - 635 pages (in the version that I read)
Josh and Hazel's Guide to Not Dating - 345 pages
Patchwork - 100 pages
Wicked Beauty - 400 pages
Impossible Knife of Memory - 390 pages
Up All Night - 220 pages
Hollow City GN - 272 pages
My Lady Jane - 14 hours
Romantic Comedy - 300 pages

I'm still trying to place Romantic Comedy (for now I've placed it in the page points only section). It could potentially fit in one of these unfulfilled categories:
Read 3 books featuring the found family trope
Read 3 books featuring a group or club
Read a book featuring an only child

message 162: by Cordelia (last edited Sep 24, 2023 07:52AM) (new)

Cordelia | 159 comments Happy Sunday!

Last week I had the problem where I had too many books in progress and was feeling really restless in my reading because of it, so I made the decision to really focus until I could finish them all and start a new batch but less. I made a really good dent in that this week, and am currently working on The Golden Enclaves which could maybe work for a book featuring a group? Because different cities basically have different enclaves of witches and wizards, so there's a lot about the politics of those groups and the main character deals with one in particular frequently.

The main character is also an only child.

I think I should be able to finish today, but I guess that depends on what timezone this challenge finishes in.

message 163: by Cordelia (new)

Cordelia | 159 comments I haven't been as active with updates as I would have liked, the past 2 weeks ended up being unexpectedly busy and chaotic. But at least I was able to read a bunch and finish some books, including some big ones! Hopefully next readathon my life will cooperate more.

message 164: by TerryJane, Challenges (last edited Sep 24, 2023 09:06AM) (new)

TerryJane | 4026 comments Cordelia wrote: "I think I should be able to finish today, but I guess that depends on what timezone this challenge finishes in."

Since this group has members worldwide, our readathons always begin and end at midnight in each individual's time zone.

Carmen is in Spain, four team members are in USA, and we don't know where you and Stacy are, so who knows when it ends for the team. But you can read until your own midnight. 🕛 If you don't finish by midnight, you can count any partial completions at the bottom of the tracking tab in the non-prompt/DNF/<100 pages section.

Glad you got in lots of reading, despite life trying to get in the way, and that you enjoyed it enough to talk about the "next readathon." 😊
