Niki | 9 comments I have been trying to find something to really sink my teeth into for quite some time, but the problem is that everything I pick up ends up being shallow and disappointing. Nothing is horrible, it's just that I find myself still wanting at the end of every book.
Like Shadow and Bone. This could have been so very good if the plot wasn't so very shallow. The Darkling could have been this complicated diverse character that stole my attention and had me rooting for him even though he is the bad guy, and yet... Nope. Shallow and predictable. Also, I hate it when I more or less know how it's going to end right away.
So, someone please help me! I would really like something paranormal/romance/fantasy where the main character isn't a bore and the plot has some meat to it. Some steamy scenes wouldn't be remiss either. Maybe even something where there is a not-so-cliched sexy bad boy?
Thank you!

Dawntwilight000 | 4 comments Have you read Mercy Thompson, Kate Daniels, Jane Yellowrock? All good series.

Sin Tess | 3 comments You could try the Kate Daniels Series Magic BitesIlona Andrews. It has a very interesting world build and a really steamy romance.

An if you want something with some sex, but plenty of substance you could try TheUnholy Ghosts Downside Ghosts Series by Stacia Kane

Michelle (quill_n_ink) | 107 comments Have you read any of Elizabeth Hunter's books? I've read two of her series so far, and several spin-off novellas, and they are excellent. Great cast of characters, great world building, etc.

A Hidden Fire (Elemental Mysteries, #1) by Elizabeth Hunter The Scribe (Irin Chronicles, #1) by Elizabeth Hunter are both PNR but very different from each other.

Salome | 35 comments The Fever series by Karen Marie Moning!!! It's riveting and has a strong plot. I have a tendency to figure out all the plot twists in books so was pleasantly surprised when this book kept me on my toes. It's got quite a few steamy scenes but doesn't let that overshadow the actual plot. I consider it more UF than PNR but it's awesome all the same!!!

Regina Shiderly (shiderly77) | 12 comments I'd rec for Kate Daniels, too, if you haven't all ready tried it. Love the series!

And if you haven't tried Seanan McGuire, give her a go too, she's definitely worth your time and so is Tybalt. Rosemary and Rue (October Daye #1) by Seanan McGuire

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) I agree Kate Daniels and Karen Marie Moning are great (some of my favorite series), but not really what I'd consider new and juicy. The male leads are amazing, though, and definitely stand out, with the plots being layered and strong.

With Kate Daniels the first book is weaker and some people struggled some with it, but keep at it.

Brittain *Needs a Nap and a Drink* (bwilliams2013) Royal Street (Sentinels of New Orleans, #1) by Suzanne Johnson This is one of my favorite series and the 4th book is coming out in just a couple of weeks. It's fun and set in New Orleans with all sorts of paranormal elements to it.

Jaxxon | 2 comments Im a huge fan of The Night Huntress series by Jeanienne Frost.... witty, romantic and great on audio book (the male protag is English ;) )

message 17: by Sallie (new)

Sallie Griffin (salliebelle) Kelly Armstrong, Keri Arthur, Shannon Mayer, Jessica Sorensen, Stacey Marie Brown and Jaymin Eve are some very kickass authors who write books I think you'd really enjoy!

Meredith | 3 comments Looking at your profile for books you've read so I could specifically target your comment on a bad boy option, I noticed you have read some YA fantasy. You might try the Mythos Academy series which definitely has a bad boy love interest but it won't have as much "juicieness" due to the age of the characters, but does have an intriguing fantasy element tied to mythology. If your looking for more adult romance in the story maybe try the Evolution trilogy by Starla Huchton (Evolution: Angel, Evolution: Sage, Evolution:Hex) which deals with superheroes and comic style villains or The Night series written by Marie Hall under the pseudonym R.S. Black. That series begins with Crimson Night and features a heroine named Pandora who is a succubus who travels with a circus of other demons embodying the seven deadly sins. Both have male bad boy leads that play pivotal roles in the series.
