How many series are on your "keeper" shelf?

I keep my favorite series in my head. Sheila cConnolly is one Elizabeth Peters is one I keep along with Barbara Michaels books. Now on my Wordpress blog I tag them as favorites. One I am reading I
Now is Elizabeth Gunn Jake Hinks series .I lso like her Arizona series.

I have a bunch of series I really like and stay current on, but not many books I keep any more. The only books I've read in recent years that I've kept are the Hunger Games and Wolves of Mercy Falls books.

A book has to be terrible for me to part with it! I am slowly trying to get rid of the idea of keeping books I probably won't reread but it's a struggle.

I am working on reading several series but mostly older ones. I think the only time I have ever been waiting for an author to publish the next book in a series was with Harry Potter! I am getting close to that situation with Louise Penny's Three Pines series though.

I used to hang on to everything until I realized if I kept going there wouldn't be any room for the people & dogs in my house! Started shedding books several years ago and made some really good money on some of them on eBay. I have enough UNREAD books in the house to worry about keeping the ones I have read!

I have some series that I keep all the books, and other that I keep only some. I started out keeping everything, but finite space means the reality is I have to pick and choose, so I keep series I know I will re-read in their entirety. For other series, I keep only the books I know I will re-read or were special gifts

I keep almost all of them. I hate getting rid of books, although I don't keep those that I know I'll never read again. There are just not very many of those. :)

I almost never reread a book. One exception to that was the first 4 Sookie Stackhouse books. I reread them before the start of the first 4 seasons of True Blood. Which kind of didn't make sense when the only season that resembled any of the books was the first one! I've got too many unread books to go back and reread one! I reread a lot when I was a kid. I read LITTLE WOMEN and DRACULA every summer for several years, among others.

There are definitely some series I keep up-to-date with. Most are my mystery/thriller authors: Connelly, Patterson, Hoban, Lincoln/Child. Also a couple of my chick-lit series: Robyn Carr, Kat Martin, Linda Lael Miller for a few.

I try to prune my book collection occasionally. The books I'll never give away, though, are my Georgette Heyers (both the Regency romances and the mysteries). Other than that, I have a lot (although not a complete set) of Dick Francis's books (the original ones, not the ones co-written by his son). I have a near complete set of Elizabeth George books. And, of course, I have Harry Potter, too!

Aww, I re-read heaps. Ok, well, I did - before my TBR pile(s) became appallingly high and started teetering ominously. But I do love re-reading good books - it's like reminiscing with old friends. :)

I re-read a good number of books, both from childhood and books I read as a adult. I think of it as having a good visit with dear friends. And sometimes I find I just need those visits. But I also find that I only re-read the books I enjoy. For some series, that's the whole series, while with others, I pick and choose the books because I don't like the idea of a visit I won't enjoy.

I must say, I really did enjoy re-reading Dead to the World. I do still have all the Sookie books, and #4 is my favorite in the series. Even though, as a rule, I don't re-read much, I can see myself picking up that particular book another time or 2 in the future. (I thought about re-rereading THE THORN BIRDS when Colleen McCullough passed away recently. I still might. It's one of the books that got me back into reading back in 1978.)

I have such a difficult time getting rid of books that I have several series on the shelves. I couldn't even tell you which is my favorite. I'm up to six bookcases now. No, make that seven, with my TBR stack piled on top of a shorter bookcase.

The only books I have been keeping on my "keeper" shelves are all of Maeve Binchy's books. They remind me of my travels and the people I have met. Just purchased her last published book Chestnut Street full of short stories and I am reading it with my Bookreads friend Eva.

I get most of my books from the library. I honestly can't imagine wanting to reread a mystery as I would already know the outcome.

By far and away my favorite of the bunch too and one I've enjoyed re-reading more than a couple of times. Such a great book!

;) Yay for Heyer! I think I have all of the Dick Francis books that were published before his death. I tried a couple with his son but prefer the earlier ones.

I rarely re-read books and try not to keep many. There are a few I've kept because I met the author and got the books signed...but not sure I will re-read them and at some point might let them go.

I have too many books as it is so don't need to keep them all!

I love that series. Right now I am caught up and I am anxiously waiting for the next release which is scheduled for this year I think.

I keep up with Sofie Kelly's Magical Cats series and also her (writing as Sofie Ryan) Second Chance Cats series. A new one I plan to keep up with is Leigh Perry's Skeleton books. Of course, I have to keep up with my own Witch City Mystery series!

The last five years any books I own have been keepers, series or not. Previously I only kept hardbacks but now I find I don't want to part with any books. Once my bookcases arrive I may have to re-think the whole thing.

Lately I've been reading just about everything by Peter Lovesey. His Peter Diamond series is my favorite, but the stand alone books are really good too. I keep all of them. I would classify them as more like standard mysteries than cozies, but they are quite enjoyable and often funny. Too good to miss!

I'm a horrible collector when it comes to books and I re-read those I liked quite often (I've read some of my Agatha Christie novels 8-9 times)... I got some bigger shelves last year, but I'm already thinking about where to put new ones :D

I have a hard time getting rid of books. In fact, I never do it. Some of them I re-read, but it is more than just re-reading that keeps me from finding them a new home. I just love having them around the house. I like the way a shelf full of books I enjoyed reading looks. I love the library "feel" and I love having it in my house. At this point I would consider myself a book collector, but it did not start that way.

Cook, The Magical Bakery Series by Bailey Cates, The Ophelia & Abby Series by Shirley Damsgaard, The Witchcraft Mysteries by Juliet Blackwell, The Hat Shop Mysteries by Jenn McKinlay, The Call Of The Wilde Mysteries by Laura Morrigan, The Charmed Pie Shoppe Mysteries by Ellery Adams, The Blackbird Sisters Mysteries by Nancy Martin, The Magical Dressmaking Series by Melissa Bourbon, The Fortune Teller Mysteries by Kari Lee Townsend and The Comfort Food Mysteries by Christine Wenger. I also have the Walt Longmire series by Craig Johnson and the Addison Holmes series by Liliana Hart. Those last two are more mysteries then just cozy mysteries. But my collection is growing CONSTANTLY, it's like watching weeds taking root.
