The book was about a new kid who finds a glove and decides to keep it. Then he becomes friends with the kid whose glove it was and tries to return it. He has a single dad who was a ballplayer, and an older sister. I think the family's last name was Foster, and I dont remember the kids first name. It might have been David. The kid whose glove he tries to return is named Tad Myers, I'm almost positive. I've tried a lot of Google searches but had no luck

The book you're looking for is "The Million Dollar Shot" by Dan Gutman. It's a children's book where the main character, Eddie Ball, becomes friends with Tad Myers and tries to return the valuable baseball glove he found. Eddie's dad is a former baseball player, and he has a sister named Beth.
No, it's not Million Dollar Shot, and the kids name is not Eddie Ball (the kid in Million Dollar shot is named Eddie Ball, but that's a basketball book). The second half of the book I'm looking for is where the new kids team, minus a lot of the best players who left rather than play with him, play a game against the best team in the league
I think the cover was red and had a picture of a young teen boy in a baseball uniform throwing a pitch. I keep thinking it's something like 'New Kid on the Team' but that's not quite right I don't think
