Omg, that all sounds so good. I hope I make it to the 11th. It seems like forever away. While I'm not sure it was misrepresented purposefully, it was definitely nothing like I expected based on the written description. It had potential, but instead it just feels like stress, stress, stress, and like I'm always waiting for the next email that's going to make me redo a boatload of work.

How annoying when work gets in the way of your real responsibilities! (to PBT, of course) I'm still in awe of how you and the others can keep up with this daily.You said I would move Sabrina but the board shows her having been moved 15 by Ellen and not having read that book yet, do I move her again? I would be happy to, as it would get her onto a new board.

Robin, I will double check with Anita, but we have been showing special moves in () with the move number next to it, as in (Robin #2)-so I say yes, just put down where you want to move her to -moving from her seat # 92. To take her off the board you can only move her 9 spaces-She needs to set up her Porter board and then roll herself to move there. I will make sure Anita knows about this message tonight.

Anita & JoAnne, My roll of 1 puts me on space 100. I am using one of my benefits to use 3 participation points to move ahead 3 spaces, which puts me on #3 of the next Board then I'll move back 3 spaces to #100. Just an FYI so you know my next move will be from #100 of Conductor Loop 4 (once I read both books).
LoL Joy, ok I was not sure where to put you today-so you are on space 103 right now-I will move you back to #100 tomorrow and pray you don't get another 1 or 3!

I have one question though. When I land on the book and decide to choose this bonus, do I need to read the book I landed on and THEN read the one I'll move to based on the number of chapters, or do I only need to read the one I move myself to?

I decided not to use it right now. Instead, I'll use the Apr 22 bonus - move forward 5 spaces at any time I wish. That puts me at spot #52.

Okay, I think I need to clarify your bonus a bit. I tried to explain it well, but I don't think I did!
When you moved forward your 10 spaces from the most recent roll, that book is THE book that you use to determine the value of the special roll by looking at the number of chapters.
Let's say it had 16 chapters. Then you can retain that move of 16 to use whenever you want. The number of chapters needs to be determined from the book you landed on after moving the 10 spaces.
You can use your April 22nd bonus to move ahead to read the book at 52, but regardless, you still need to use the book at 47 to calculate the value of your special 6-4 move.

Got it now, Anita! Thank you for such detailed explanation. So my #47 book is Sheltering Rain, it actually has 16 (!) chapters, so when I want I can use it to move 16 spaces ahead.

Awesome!! My apologies for not explaining it clearly the first time around!
My latest roll is another 1 (what's with all these 1's?!) So, that puts me on Space 1 of Conductor Loop 5. I am going to use a special benefit earned on 5/16 to move ahead 5 spaces, taking me to 106. I will then move back 3 to 103 and move forward from there after reading the book on 106 and the one representing 103 (which will probably be a swap since I've already read 103 - if that's allowed).
I do not know how Anita feels, but I I am going to just check your board everyday and that is where I will put you-LoL -you are on loop 4 (or is it 5 now) after all!

Hilde-DId you roll from #39 (you had a special that had moved you there after # 31)-Your board still shows you on # 31-If 31 is what you are almost done with, then you need to read #39 first before taking another roll. I am not sure if Anita wants you to keep the 1-6 in store for your next move, or if we will just forget about it for now. I will ask her to look and see what she wants you to. For now, you need to move to 39.
@Joanne: rolled from 39, which I’m almost done with. Also, no special rolls, only moved by ordinary dice rolls.

I loved it! I'm debating whether to add to my Favorites list, which is rare for me. I'm going to see if I feel the same in a week or two.
I listened to the audio, which is really long (36 hours), but the narrator did a such a good job of projecting the personalities of each character - I felt like I was almost hearing them speak to me.

I also wasn't sure about Lonesome Dove but once I get into it, I loved it and it read very fast. (I would never have thought I'd love a western, but it's so much more.) There was a TV miniseries that was also very good. I tried 2 of McMurtry's other books from the series and couldn't get into either one of them.

Anita - you have definitely done the right thing in giving notice. Clearly that job was misrepresented from the beginning and you do not need that kind of stress in your life!
When you leave that contract job in September, stop by the Royal Coach for a full day or two of pampering and being waited on hand and foot. Snuggle in with a book you've been dying to read and let the staff take care of you!
I can even arrange for the Cabanna Boys and Firefighters to wander through periodically and do some flexing for your entertainment!
