- There is a witch or ghost chasing them at some point
- I believe they're trying to find an old cabin that their childhood friend lived in
- The childhood friend disappeared (or was possibly killed) when they were kids
- The river in the forest sometimes runs backwards
- Different seasons exist at different times in the forest
- It turns out that the "haunting" and "ghosts" are caused by time travel and time loops
