Review:
Burn for Burn is set on Jar Island, a beautiful holiday spot only reachable by ferry and seemingly perfect. The life on the island year round is different to just spending holidays there however.

We follow three girls; the popular, rich and beautiful Lillia Cho who hangs out with all the popular kids, the quiet new girl Mary Zane with a dark secret in her past and the loud and self assured Kat DeBrassio who has more enemies than friends.

These girls find a common goal in revenge and a tentative friendship builds between them while they plan and execute their pranks the newest always grander than the one before.

This is a first book in a trilogy and it does feel like the first installment. All the storylines are left hanging and I'm eager to read the next book. I like Jenny Han's writing and the characters she creates. What I liked was that although this book is about revenge, it isn't mean-spirited. The revenge feels justified and the girls struggle with guilt too. There is an element of mystery in the air and all the while I was reading, I felt like not all was revealed, like a big plot twist is somewhere around the corner.

Ubah (theironfeyrules) The Vile Village (A Series of Unfortunate Events, #7) by Lemony Snicket

By Lemoney Snicket

Review:
In this twisted story ther are 3 orphaned kids Violet,Sunny, and Klaus Buadelaires there parents dies in the first novel of the series by a fire soon to find out that was cauesed by the terrible Count Olaf which is told to be ther "uncle" but only wants to inherit there fourtune left by there parents.

Throughout this series the children have been moved from place to place because where ever they go Count Olaf always finds them and harms there guardians in some gruesome way. Now in the 7th book the kids are in a village being taken care of by the mean elderlies and ther horribly stricked rules.

Count Olaf finds them and brings his cruel girlfriend with him they bring havoc and destruction with him. This story feels like it will never end in a good way kinda. You will never expect what would happen and thats what i like about the book not love but like. If only there where some romance and supernatural stuff happening then that would exciting.

I hope you like the review.

I did find the story slow at the beginning. It took me about eighty pages before I really began to connect to the characters. Then I found the book difficult to put down. I did enjoy most of the interactions between the different characters. I especially enjoyed Fire's dealings with Small and Horse the two horses she ends up with in the book. I liked how they both chose her and because of that she didn't actually view them as property.

Review:
I feel like I'm committing sacrilege by saying this book was just meh for me. While I appreciate the historical significance of the book/author in romancelandia, I didn't really like the style in which it was written and I didn't particularly like our heroine. The style of the writing was what I guess they call 3rd person omnipotent and I guess I'm too used to today's style that is usually written in the MCs' POV - if not both, at least the heroine's. This book just made me feel separate from the MCs and didn't really endear them to me which is unfortunate since I, as I said, I didn't really like the heroine. I thought she was flighty and insipid, to use Heyer's word. And the BIG MISUNDERSTANDING as the conflict in the book is never a trope I like much. I can usually sympathize with the MCs for their reasons for not communicating, but mostly I just want to role my eyes and this was no exception.

I actually liked Dysert the most of all the characters in the book - he had some real personality (unlike the hero) and wasn't ineffectual (like the heroine). Too bad there wasn't a side-story romance for him.

The maze runner was an amazing dystopian novel even though it didn't have any romance in it okay maybe there was something going on with Theresa and Tommy. Maybe? I loved his bravery my favorite part of the book is when he goes back a tries to say his friend and every one thinks head dead until they see him come back out in the morning and then they find a whole bunch of other 'I would have never guessed ' scene and that's why I thought this book was pretty interesting to read got boring at times but other then that it was really good.

Review:

Fire with Fire is the second book in the Burn for Burn trilogy. It follows the three girls; Kat, Lillia and Mary who were in the first book brought together by a plan to revenge the mean and popular kids in their school. In Fire with Fire we pick up the story where it was left after the prank the girls planned didn't quite go as it was supposed to. They find themselves now tied together by the secrets and the growing frienship that has to remain between the three of them so that no one suspects anything.

I don't want to write a lot more about the plot, because it is really hard not to spoil anything. I liked this book even more than the first one. The tension is greater. There is more mystery and romance. I can't wait to read the last book in the trilogy to find out where the story goes.

Review: Private Investigator and Wizard Harry Dresden is back trying to solve grisly murders that he suspects were committed by werewolves. He discovers that Mob boss Johnny Marcone is also involved. Like in book 1, Harry gets his a$$ kicked a number of times and escapes dire situations just in the nick of time. I like his flirtatious banter with Detective Karrin Murphy and reporter Susan Rodriguez, but I can't help wondering if this eventually going to turn into some kind of Stephanie/Morelli/Ranger kind of thing. I didn't like the book as much as the first, but that may be because I had a lot going on this week and was trying to squeeze in reading. I just bought books 3 and 4 so I'm definitely continuing the series.

I've been waiting to get to Kellen's story. It was worth the wait, at least for me. He's a frustrating hero because you feel his pain and who doesn't want someone to love you as much as he loved Sara, but DUDE... move on already!! Anyway, I really enjoyed how this story played out and I really liked Dawn's strength in going after what she wanted and to not be intimidated by 1) the ghost of Sara and 2) Kellen's mostly irrational guilt. The only thing in the book that bothered me was that Kellen still hasn't gotten to the point of recognizing how utterly selfish Sara was and that he has every right to love someone else. But the story ended on a positive note and there is always the hope that in the next installment for Kellen he will get there.

Review: Miranda Bloom is a math genius who has a crush on Dex. She thinks Dex also likes her since he kissed her at a dance before the Christmas holidays. (Thank you, re-cap for book 1.) Miranda goes to London to spend the holidays with her romance-novelist mother. Upset that Dex never contacts her, Miranda finds solace in a cute Brit named Henry who shows her the town and gives her much-needed attention. When Miranda returns to Florida, will she try to rekindle things with Dex or try to maintain a transatlantic relationship? Will her competitive math team win the state competition? Will her evil stepmother actually become nice? I liked this book more than I expected to. There's a lot of repetition but it's a cute, well-written story.

Scarlet continues the story of Cinder the cyborg girl, living in New Beijing and introduces new characters to the story, such as Scarlet. She is a feisty farmer girl, living in France. Her grandmother has gone missing and as the police is doing nothing, Scarlet teams up with a certain street fighter called Wolf to find out what has happened to her grand-mére.

I was eager to continue Cinder's story and those parts of this book with Cinder didn't disappoint. I love her as a character. I liked Scarlet too, but it took me quite a while to warm up to her part of the story. Now I am very much looking forward to reading Cress, which I've only heard good things about.

They want her to become one of them but she keeps saying no and her freinds Zee,Buns,Brownie,Russel, and her boyfriend Reed i love Reed he the most perfect angel literaly. So through out the book they go into a lot of trouble but as long as they all have each other they can get through it. This series is amazing in many ways. It has a great romance between Reed and Evie and other relationships that are also amazing.

Review:

A video link is sent to the police and it shows a woman being filmed stalker style from her garden. Later she is found brutally murdered from her house. When the next video link is sent, the police knows they have no time to waste, but they can't find anything in the videos to point them to a location. They are racing against time to save the woman in the video, but once again are left to wait for the emergency call to tell them she has been found dead.

At the same time a former priest Rocky Kyrklund is in mental institution where he was sentenced 9 years ago for a very similar murder. His memories are a vague flow of nightmares and imaginary things, left forever like that by years worth of heroin use and a nearly fatal accident that caused a serious brain trauma.

The detective in charge of the case, a very pregnant Margot Silverman suspects Rocky either had an accomplice or is innocent but she has no way of proving it, because Rocky himself can't remember what happened years ago and is certain of his guilt.

Stalker is the newest mystery by the Swedish writer duo writing under the name Lars Kepler. This series is my parents' favorite but this 5th book was the first one I read. I thought they were all separate mysteries like these books usually are, but in truth this book did spoil me some character development stuff from previous books.

The main detective in Kepler's books is Joona Linna, a Finnish detective, but this book starts without him as he has disappeared and presumed dead. Since the book series is named after him, it's not a big spoiler that he is in fact not dead and returns in this book. The person in charge of the investigation however is Margot Silverman.

I was instantly sucked into the story and could barely stop reading to cook dinner for my kids or to sleep at night. You really start to look out of the windows at night and wonder how well people see into your house. It is a creepy story for sure and I really didn't see it coming who the stalker would turn out to be, not at all. I took one star out of the five because of the in my opinion unnecessary scenes of sex and violence. Part of it could've been left out as they gave nothing really to the storyline. The violence is described quite graphically but in kind of cold manner, like in police files. Great building suspense though and the twist in the end left me glued to the last pages holding my breath.

Review:
This was a good read - it was better than the second book which was better than the first, so maybe I'll love the fourth book o_O I did like their love story. Even though both MCs weren't ready to be mated, they seemed to accept it willingly enough as part of their nature as lupine. What they struggled with and was the source of the conflict in the book was learning how to accept each other as they were and to be partners, to accept they also were in love besides being mated. But all of this sorted itself out nicely. My only issue was near the end with a gratuitous menage scene. I've nothing against MFM and I knew I was reading an erotica but the scene sort of came out of nowhere and didn't really add much to the overall story. The author did an admiral job of incorporating it, but it still felt as if she was told to add something non-vanilla to the story and so came up with it. As I was reading and it became obvious where we were headed, I just felt no... this isn't right. It didn't fit in with the personalities of the MCs so just felt wrong to me. I will give the author props, though, because once committed to doing the scene, she made it work and during and after the scene, I felt okay, that the MCs had not been compromised. It was just the build up to the scene and knowing that the story could have been complete without it bothered me.

I really enjoyed the scenes involving the vampires, and Michael (the Archangel?) makes a great sidekick. I liked how we see Harry's softer side in this book. I'm looking forward to the next installment.
