YA Scifi/ Fantasy/ Dystopian, read in 1980s. 6 teens with different abilities & from different factions/ clans work together despite prejudices to save their city (London?). One teen lived in underground tunnels & can see in dark. One has facial tattoos.

It's been years since I thought of this book, so I'm fuzzy on the details. From what I remember there are 6 kids, from different factions/clans, who work together to save their city, might be London? One of the teens comes from group that lives in the underground tunnels. They've spent most of their lives in the dark, so they've developed the ability to see in the dark.The character wears special glasses when out in the sun because it's too bright for her to tolerate. One of the character's clan affiliation is obvious because of facial tattoos similar to the Maori. The characters are thrown together and have to work through their prejudices.
It was my aunt's so I never had a copy, but I remember loving the story.

Most of the action takes place above ground. Only 1 of the six can see in the dark. The others can’t. I really wish I could remember more. I just remember a scene where 2 of them had to go underground with the person who could see in the dark and one of the was freaked out by not being able to see.

Could it be Michael de Larrabeiti's The Borrible Trilogy? The books are from the right period and they are set in London.

I was so hopeful but I don’t think it’s that. From what I remember, they’re YA. The angsty moments really appealed to my teen self. And my impression was that they were broken up into clans. If I remember right, the girl who could see in the dark, her tribe did facial tattoos. And I don’t remember any type of focus on pointed ears.

I read it in the 80s. Mix of M/F, from different groups. It's been 30+ years since I read it, so it's a little hazy. It had a more dystopian feel, no fantasy creatures.
