SOLVED. A book older then 15 years :: 4 kids from different times or from different planets [s]

Hey all I've been looking for a while for a book I sort of read back in grade school so this would be between 1999 and 2001 but the book could have come out before that. I don't think it was that old when I discovered it. It has obviously been a while and I don't remember if I actual finished the book but I'll try my best to describe it. I believe it was a teen novel, perhaps science fiction from what I can recollect.

From what I remember, I couldn't pronounce the title of the book but that doesn't mean it wasn't simple. I remember that there were several teens (I believe) involved, three perhaps four of them. I don't remember if they each came from a different time or a different planet but they were all human. I remember one kid (male) was in a big city and was either doing card tricks against people on the street for money or was going to these gambling things and taking their money because he was good at reading cards. Another kid was sort of from a future like time/world where all inhabitants lived basically on the internet/virtual reality. This kid steps way from the virtual world and steps outside to find the world is barren with a giant wall run by I think robots. I'm sure there was a girl involved in there somewhere. Anyway, each of these kids is taken from their respective places but I cannot remember why (which is why I don't remember finishing the book).

Now that is pretty vague and I've been looking for sometime but that is all I can remember. For whatever reason I've not been able to get this out of my head for years and cannot think why. I don't think I have any other information.

Since this is so vague I cannot expect much but here is hoping it sparks something in someone.
