Ashleigh Motbey (ashybear02) | 1686 comments JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER
August 1st - August 31st, 2023

This month we are celebrating the beautiful cover art that comes with all the books we read. Do you like books with photos on them? Hand-drawn covers? Digital art?

For this challenge, you will choose a cover style (or multiple styles) and read books with that cover style. For example, you might choose covers with digital drawings, so you might read:

The Proposal (The Wedding Date, #2) by Jasmine Guillory The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood Arsenic and Adobo (Tita Rosie's Kitchen Mystery, #1) by Mia P. Manansala

OR books with just text on the cover:

Daddy by Emma Cline Dark Matter by Blake Crouch Crazy Rich Asians (Crazy Rich Asians, #1) by Kevin Kwan

To sign up, let the challenge leader know how many books you want to read.

Thank you to Kristina for creating and leading this challenge

Kristina | 631 comments Sheila wrote: "Sheila from NC signing up for 10, although I’m not sure I’m clear on criteria."

Hi, Sheila! The criteria is pretty flexible - the focus for this challenge is to pick books by their cover art.

You could start with some big general categories and pick a "type" of cover art (for example, choosing books that have graphic designs or typography for cover art) or narrow it down with very specific categories (for example, choosing books with character profiles or books that all have animals on the cover).

You can pick any type/category of book cover art you like or read from a couple of different categories. (So far everyone who has signed up has picked some great categories, if you want to use them for an example!)

Does that make sense? Let me know if you're still confused!

message 22: by Lea (new)

Lea I would like to participate if it's not too late :)

I would like to read at least to books with a sword (or something like that) on it:
From Blood and Ash (Blood and Ash, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout Four Dead Queens by Astrid Scholte Stealing Infinity by Alyson Noel Gläsernes Schwert by Victoria Aveyard

I would like to read at least 3 books with some plants/greens/flowers on it:
Kingdom of the Wicked (Kingdom of the Wicked, #1) by Kerri Maniscalco King of Battle and Blood (German Edition) by Scarlett St. Clair A Touch of Darkness (Hades & Persephone, #1) by Scarlett St. Clair
I have more books with that covers, but can't find them right now.

So in total I would read at least 5 books to participate this challenge! I'm really excited :)
