William | 1 comments Hey i am looking for recommendations for books that have a romance in them where the heroine is of much higher status or more powerful than the male character. So like a princess or powerfull sourceress, I also really enjoy gender role reversal books. So where the heroine pursues the male or uses her power or status to get him, or he needs defending. Examples would be the last sparrow hawk, a brother's price etc etc. Basically anything where a princess goes out in disguise and meets a commoner and things go from there will be right up my alley lol

Any recommendations you guys have would be most appreciated!

examples of what i have enjoyed:
wheel of time
art of the adept
seven realms
twilight life and death
tad williams fantasy series's
the queens thief
benjamin ashwood
daniel faust
winners curse
a man of his word series
last sparrow hawk
archers voice

ooh and i also wouldnt mind any pnr recommendations where the heroine is supernatural and the male isnt, so like life and death (genderflipped twilight)

Steven Allen | 1 comments A few months ago I read A Brother's Price by Wen Spencer. I have read some of her other works as well, such as the Ukiah Oregon series.

From these few examples of her writing (especially A Brother's Price) this author's books might be what your are seeking.

I couldn't get into the books but you might try Kushiel's Dart by Jacqueline Carey.

There was a fantasy series from the mid-80s to the 90s with a woman who could summon fire that marries a prince. I remember that the men were basically treated as women were back in the day, having to wear bonnets, and stay at home.

I can't find the books or the author's name at the moment. They were decent books (IIRC - been more than 20 years since I read them) but I didn't like how far the author went to putting men in a subservient position - I thought it was a bit too much. YMMV
