Title Chain Reading Challenge 2023

Not interested in reading this at the moment. 2 is a chain so I'll count this challenge a success.
@Chara woah sorry I had no idea! Robert Sheehan works hard😂 I feel like reading the book or watching the movie now!
So my chain has been going terribly. I feel like I shot myself in the foot by starting with Beastly because I found it really hard to find a compelling book that starts with Y.
Soooo I restarted my chain with Eight Billion Genies (5 stars, really great comic) and now I’m reading The School for Good and Evil. I think I still have time to salvage this challenge...

Yes! I also had trouble with Y. I did Your Pal Fred
Wow those are both short. I should’ve just asked you for help! Oh well, I restarted now so I’ll see how it goes with my new chain.
@Chara I loved Misfits! It was a little excessive at times but I loved the concept. I stopped at the end of series 2 though because everything changed

Can you please message me what you mean by everything changed? Was it the vibe of the book or did it get un necessarily dark? Misfits is on my TBR.

@Kadi I also loved the concept but it was too excessive for me to continue. I only watched episode 1😅

@Aurora I actually have read the first book in the Magic Misfits series though! I thought it was really bland, especially for a book with the word magic in it. Yeah it’s about magician type magic and not actual magic but it was a cookie cutter type of book that was very obviously ghostwritten. Or maybe Neil Patrick Harris just has more charisma in his acting than his writing. I didn’t continue after the first book.
@Chara yeah you really have to skip scenes and desensitise yourself to the swearing and there’s a loooot in that show. I already don’t like watching shows with swearing so I’m surprised I made it through 2 seasons! Still, the season 2 ending was brilliant. That show had a fantastic plot!

@Chara @Little Reading wizard you guys killed it! Very impressive to see your super long chains! Well done🎉
My chain was precisely one title long😂 I did try but I couldn’t commit properly. I think I do better on task based challenges ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Never seen anything with him in it, I watch "kids" movies though.
Thats sad that its not real magic. I might try the first book anyway if it fits a challenge prompt, I think there was one about magicians one time.
@Aurora Neil Patrick Harris is in the Netflix adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events which is for kids. It’s a 3 season show and he plays Count Olaf. He’s really great in the role because his style of acting is like whacky humour and it suits the character a lot. The show is pretty good but I got bored by the start of season 3 because I just wanted answers and it was talking a long time to get them. I thought the same thing with the books though. I’m not a fan of slow burn mysteries!
I always wanted to love that book series because I love the concept of it but I never got to the end so I couldn’t fully understand the plot. (view spoiler) So many questions!

I think that show would be too creepy/ sad for me but thanks for the rec anyway. Im going to re watch The Dragon Prince so I can watch season 3, need a distration from stuff and books just aren't cutting it. I joined a challenge in another group this month so hopefully I'll read some books in July too.
I think the sad stuff in animations is easier to handle theres war in TDP but its animated so it feels less serious than if it were live action. Hope this mskes sense.

Thanks for this challenge, Kadi.

The Mortal Instruments movie is good though. I liked it more than the Shadowhunters tv show, though that’s a controversial opinion lol.
