SOLVED. Children's book. Girl is on her way to a piano lesson, and does everything to get there on time including riding an elephant and gondola but ends up being late [s]

I read this book some time in 2009-2014. In the book a girl is writing to her piano teacher to explain why she was late for her lesson. She explains how she tried to use multiple forms of transportation(two of which I remember being an elephant ride and a gondola), but every time something would go wrong and the girl would have to find another way to make it to her piano lesson. Until finally the girl gives up and goes home to write the letter to her teacher explaining everything.
