Also ebooks are cheaper to buy than physical books

Personally I like paper books better. But I tend to run out of room on my bookshelf. So having e-books are better for storage. Plus you can read in the dark. Then I usually tend to miss flipping pages in my hand and smelling the ink.

I would like to have a copy of the book for both! Sometimes my kindle (the only one) is taken by my husband or kids when I want to read. At night, if I am reading a paper back, I hate using a head lamp and my husband starts to complain if the lamp is on too long!

Alisya, That is how I use my Nook. I buy traditional books and borrow E-books.

Me too. But I think there are lots of freebies by virtue of an ereader. I haven't even tried it yet.

but I bought my first Kindle last month (I don't why, maybe because it struck me how cheap it was) and started using it as soon as I got home. It's not better than a paper book, but I like it.
I hope it will stop me from buying more books as there's no room in my house anymore ;)

I'm totally on the same boat. :-))
I'm usually very stubborn about technology, BUT I LOOOOOOVE my Kindle. I still don't like reading books on computer or phone, but Kindle is different, especially the PAPERWHITE /no glare like Kindle fire or IPAD/
Don't let me wrong, I still go to library and buy paper-books, but only the ones I really want to keep. I still travel with both, Kindle and paper books.
Here are the PRO for e-reader.
▶︎books are cheaper
▶︎many free books
▶︎they don't get dirty on the beach, lake, snow....
▶︎no clutter, no storage issue
▶︎travel, the weight restriction
▶︎dictionary /amazing tool/
▶︎bookmarks /another amazing tool/
▶︎letters adjustment /my eyes are tired in the evening, I made them bigger for less strain/
CONS
▶︎I can't think of any....:-))
So, if we're still arguing which is better??? Why not have them both. :-)))))

Storage is really the only thing e-readers have over physical books. But I think it's safe to say it's paper for me.

but the Kindle has its advantages. many book releases are cheaper and faster available as an ebook. what I do is that I sometimes, read the ebook and if I really like it, buy the paperback later on.

Paperback - for whatever reason my thumb cramps and I REFUSE to break the binding! So maybe that is why, but ever since I was pregnant with my daughter I have periodically battles carpal tunnel in my left hand, who knows!
Hardcovers I LOVE bc I can lay them down without holding the book and just read, there is not struggling with pages. My library carries mostly hardcovers (for obvious reasons) so I utilize that as much as possible. Besides then I am not spending money on something I may not like!
Kindle GREAT for traveling, reading at night so the light does not bother anyone else. Easy to carry with you anywhere and have books at the touch of a finger! Links directly to my library for instant downloads. Yeah I'm not picky!

I agree. I am really not loving the movie adaptation covers.
I do however love the anniversary covers that certain books have had!

Kindle is great for a bedtime book, or for reading while waiting for an appointment, or for taking on bicycle rides in case I want to rest for a while and catch up on my reading.
Audiobooks are great for listening to while housecleaning, traveling by car, or taking walks.
Paperbacks are for those lovely times when I can curl up in a big comfy chair and just enjoy reading.

I couldn't agree with you more!

I used to be 100% physical book copies all the way, but I gave the digital book world a try and fell in love!
I read physical books at home mostly (I would hate to damage my babies), listen to audiobooks in transit and traveling, and ebooks in conjunction with audiobooks or by themselves.
An e-reader is just more convenient; it weighs very little and I can carry a whole collection of books everywhere I go.
Also, when reading before sleeping, as in being in bed, e-readers are easier to maneuver to certain positions to allow you to drift to sleep.
I think that bookaholics will use any format to get their book fix, and I fall in the category. Heck, I listen to audiobooks while shopping instead of listening to the store's radio. Why stop your story if you have the option to continue?

I read ebooks when I'm away on holiday, as I can't take all the books I want with me.
