message 4: by Olexandra (new)

Olexandra Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas. The plot was intriguing, and because od the hype I was really looking forward to reading it, but I couldn't find a single likable character or connect with any of them. Also the written style bugged me for some reason. DNF at 46 %

maria jane ୨୧* ・゚ | 26 comments A court of thorns and roses, not because I didn’t like it I wasn’t looking for that type of book to read at that moment so I left it for some other time. will probably start it after I finish the book i’m currently reading!

After reading ACOTAR I wasn't sure I was actually going to like the series, but push through to the second book because WOW that one was so good!!!

message 19: by Tiyanie N (new)

Tiyanie N (tiyanie_n02) | 160 comments the last one I DNFed was Not here to be liked, I loved the beginning of the story but then the plot itself became so boring that I just couldn't push myself to read it and the only thing in it was about feminism and not about what it was supposed to be.

message 20: by Robert (new)

Robert Drews | 98 comments I almost did not finish Mark Twain's "Roughing It." Just a bunch of stuff about him and mostly pretty dull. I finished it only because I was reading the book for a book club.

anna near (annanear) | 129 comments honestly, i end up dnf'ing a lot of overhyped booktok books....

message 22: by Sei (new)

Sei (iam_theeridan) Invisible Darkness. its a true crime book about paul bernardo and karla homolka but oh my god its a friggin drag. so much useless information that doesnt tie into anything those two did, or what happened to their poor victims. i kid you not for like 3 pages straight the author talked about how in cananda mcdonalds used to have pizza and karla and paul would order out from there often

message 23: by Veronika (new)

Veronika (lillacjade) mostly books for university like Brooklyn by Colm Toibin for example XD

Valentina 🦋🇵🇸 | 119 comments right now it’s Billy Summers by Stephen king. I have put it down and just have found no desire to pick it up again. Maybe some day I will but not right now

allilovesbooks | 11 comments Where the crawdads sing I got bored wasn’t my fav genre :)

message 26: by Robert (new)

Robert Drews | 98 comments Interesting. A number of the books described above I liked a lot. Just goes to show the beauty of books; they're for some people but not for others. I'm in a book club where this frequently happens, some give a book five stars, others give it a two.

Zehra (taylor’s version) | 20 comments You’ve reached same , it was just so obvious and pointless 🫠

message 28: by Olivia (new)

Olivia | 15 comments The ONLY book I DNF, was the light we lost. I tried so hard to like it but I don’t know what it is it was just terribly boring. Now I absolutely hate not finishing books however I find it had no real plot and was just very predictable. Though I’m about half way through so I might just suffer through and keep reading

message 29: by Shannon (new)

Shannon barton | 33 comments Never never by CoHo, just couldnt get into didnt pull me in like her other books

Zehra (taylor’s version) | 20 comments I am gonna read Never Never by Coho soon (it’s currently on the endless tbr ha) what was bad about it ?

message 34: by callygurl (new)

callygurl | 1 comments Hunting Adeline. Yes, the first book was also very questionable, but this one was on a whole different level and not enjoyable in the slightest. Every time I see someone on booktok recommend this book, I am shocked.

message 35: by maya ☆ (new)

maya ☆ (is starting uni!) (chicknotcorea) the invisible life of addie larue. i got to p.120 and i got tired of the vibes no plot, even tho i knew it was that before going into, i jsut didn't think there was going to be this little plot by p.120; like all we had settled by then was the curse and its effects, we met henry once and the shadow god came to visit her in paris soon after. i couldnt bare another page. should have been 200 pages max

message 38: by lonnie (new)

lonnie | 1 comments I didn't finish A Court Of Thorns And Roses. I got half way through and was so BORED. It was like reading one of the "better" Wattpad books, you know, the ones that cost money? Frankly, that just wasn't good enough for me. It was too predictable, I didn't connect with the main character or the love interest, him sending her away and almost her entire family believing the dumb story they were told so they don't ask any question was just so uninteresting to me.

message 39: by charlotte (new)

charlotte | 1 comments they both die at the end, got bored of it

Danisha (qt_neesha) Zehraa wrote: "You’ve reached same , it was just so obvious and pointless 🫠"

agreed! i finished it a couple of days ago, and honestly was a waste of good reading time... i couldnt understand the hype because it was sooo predictable, and julie was just not a lovable character hahaha. sorry booktok :)

message 41: by Anna (new)

Anna | 28 comments It ends with us. Collen hover umm... it was just not the right book for me. Dont get me wrong I love romance but it was just overhyped and idk got kinda bored with it.

message 42: by TJ ❤️ books (new)

TJ ❤️ books (tjlovesbooks) | 73 comments Age of Vice. Seemed long, lots of character point of views that just didn't seem to connect . I just couldn't get into it.
I used to keep pushing through even though a book wasnt working for me, but my TBR pile is too long and life is too short. So now I just move on

message 47: by Aud (new)

Aud | 16 comments From Lukov with Love; the main character acts so stuck up and rude it just ruins the plot.
