Bob Semple | 3 comments First of all thank you all in advance for any kind help! I am new to this, and apologize for any formatting errors I might soon make.
-I read this series in middle school, around 2012-2016. I believe it was still ongoing at the time.
-The series was advertised heavily on Kindle Unlimited, such as on the lock screens. There were many books in the series, and I remember the books were quite long, much past at least 200 pages per book.
-The author's name might have included "Peter" either as a first or last name though I remember somebody online saying this was a pen name.

SPOILERS AHEAD

Some plot points I remember are:
-The unique alien race mentioned in the title eventually allies with the humans in a conflict. At one point, when the star ship of this alien race is hit by weaponry during a battle, a character who is able to listen to their telepathic communications remarks that he heard many voices cease. They had previously been telepathically synchronizing a song in battle.
-After falling into the black hole, the character re-appears much later in the series after travelling through time.
-After travelling through time, people discover mysterious moons that move around, that later are revealed to carry weapons and act to protect them from an enemy. It is later revealed that it was the character who fell into the black hole and travelled through time to create these weaponized moons.
-At one point I remember faintly that the plot was that they were trying to stop a mysterious enemy from burrowing into their moons, not knowing that the character was in the process of creating weapons that would protect them. (Trust this detail the least of all the others present, for I don't quite remember if this is correct).
-After falling in to the black hole the character became near omniscient and very powerful, but after coming back out of where they were remarks that they forgot a piece of information that would be essential to their war effort. I believe that at this point one of the books ended, and the series was still ongoing at the time.
-The main character's name might have been Jack, but I might be confusing this with other series. (This was the person who fell into the black hole).
-At one point there is a character who is a political or military leader of some sort. She foils an assassination attempt upon herself by feeding two suspects different details on which space ship she would be travelling on. When one of the two space ships she says she is travelling on is destroyed, she figures out who was plotting against her and kills them. The saboteurs had wanted to betray humanity, which caused some critical reviews to accuse the author of borrowing heavily from other series such as Battlestar Galactica.
