Rosina Week 10 Completion
The Outcast Dead (Ruth Galloway #6) by Elly Griffiths

picked by Shannon from pick for me
390 pages

I love this series. On of my favorite. Its about England, archaeology, crime scenes, forensics. The writing is excellent. For me its like slipping on a comfortable pair of shoes. You know what to expect. This installment involves a mystery surrounding a childkiller from 100 years ago that was a woman. Love the history that gets uncovered. A very chilling and complex story of murder and kidnapping. The book grabs you from the beginning and moves along very swiftly. The characters are well fleshed out, the plot very interesting, and the ending a bit of a surprise.

Finished: May 29/15

I really liked the first of her Angels in the Dark series - Wicked Nights. If you like paranormal romance I'd suggest giving it a try.

Neil's Guardian Angel by Carol Lynne 132 pgs/GR

Cute, sweet, a little on the short side but I enjoy these little stories and all the people from Cattle Valley. This one was about Neil after he fell off his horse and ended up in the hospital with a broken body and no memory of his life before Cattle Valley. Ben was from his time growing up so Neil didn't know him at all yet had to depend on him for everything. It had element of D/s and past abuse but I didn't feel either was delved into all that much. Not great, not bad, just okay.

Review: I really enjoyed this book. Christie and Joseph are an interesting couple. Their struggle to work through their baggage from their childhood was moving. Joseph has severe ADHD which has affected every aspect of his life. I love how it was something he struggled with but also something that had contributed to his success as well. Christie had an stutter that appeared when she lost confidence. Together they came to terms with some of their issues. I thought it was a fun, quick read.

Review: I really liked this, even though I wasn't sure I would. It's just a nice fluffy comfort read. There's no real big angst. There's no real big drama. Just two lonely guys connecting and falling in love. It was just very sweet.

Option 1: Disability

Book: Embattled Hearts by J.M. Madden

How the book qualifies

#22 romance where hero heroine have a disability

Read: May 31 2015
Rating: ★★★★

Review: This was a really good story. The strength of this novel lies in the depiction of the wounded and disabled veterans. John comes back from the war in Iraq with a spinal cord injury. He and a couple of other vets set up Lost 'N' Found Investigation. Shannon is the office manager. She is fun loving spunky girl and John is grumpy and anti social. They are drawn to each other. A contemporary romantic suspense that was quite good. I really enjoyed the characters and cant wait to read more in the series. I loved everything else about it, though; the writing, the characters, the love story, the characterization. J.M. Madden has now made it to my auto-buy list.

Aminko | 653 comments Book Title: The Duke and I by Julia Quinn
Rating: ★★★★

Review:
This was a historical romance that followed the ton rules much more closely than a number of novels I’ve read recently. It was very cleverly done and helped show the developing feelings of the two main characters. I thought the heroine in this story was wonderful. I rather liked that she wanted a husband and a large family and how Julia Quinn wove the conflict around her more traditional wishes. I also enjoyed the 2nd epilogue that extended the after story a little further and help satisfy my wondering about how everything may have turned out.
