SOLVED. YA sci-fi/fantasy world where all pregnant women/babies are abducted by unknown peoples. Main characters young girl with special abilities and a man travel across post-apocolyptic landscape eventually reaching huge wall. The girl is then abducted.

YA fantasy/sci-fi starts with a girl living in a paradise alone with an older woman. The young girl is able to sense things through the earth by feeling vibrations and warmth. One day a man comes and they leave the paradise place and journey across a barren landscape like a post-apocolyptic world. I think all newborn babies might be abducted by what they call sky people or night people. They travel far and meet various tribes/groups and eventually they get to a huge wall I think? She is eventually abducted by the sky/night people in a futuristic aircraft. There is a second book but from a young boys perspective - he lives in a sci-fi tower above the polluted clouds and ruined city below. It's from his point of view we see the girl from book 1 being brought to the tower after she's abducted. Read in about 2010.
