I'm looking for a children’s sci fi book about kids on a space station. I think I read it around 2010-2013. I think it is a part of a series and the book that I read was book three or four of the series. It was a pretty young kids book, so maybe 3rd grade reading level.
The book is about a girl who I believe is an orphan and her friends. She is hiding on the space station because people are trying to find her. There might have been a robot pet as well, but I'm not sure. I think the book cover has a purple boarder and the main image is of the main girl in a martial arts fighting stance with her friends behind her. I also think the book has the occasional black and white pictures every few pages.
The characters are:
-The main girl, who is an orphan and is super talented at martial arts. I think she is asian with cropped black hair and wears a yellow outfit.
-A black boy with curly hair wearing a green outfit, who I think is really good with technology.
- A white girl with pigtails wearing a pink outfit, who talks a lot, and I think her family is rich or important on the space station.
- And I thing there is a little white boy in a blue outfit who is the little brother of the white girl.
Spoilers:
I remember that the main asian girl inherits some property towards the end of the book. There is this evil businessman who wants to steal her inheritance. He tries to trick the girl into thinking the property is a useless astroid so that she would sign over the property to him. But actually the girl's inheritance is an astroid with an incredibly wealthy and popular hotel or casino on it meaning the girl is rich. The man takes the girl on a private shuttle ride alone to the fake astroid, but her friends figure out what's going on and are able to save the day. I think the white girl's important father is the one to help the asian girl get her proper inheritance.
