Legal Thriller
6th book in the Eddie Flynn series
Compelling characters
Well-written
Tough to read at times
Corruption, racism, murder, a character's enjoyment of others' suffering
Have just finished Sweet Thursday by John Steinbeck, the sequel to Cannery Row, which I read last year. I enjoyed revisiting this group of misfits as well as the happy ending.
Also recently read:
* A New Keeper by J.C. Gilbert, YA fantasy.
* Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead by Tom Stoppard, a play featuring two minor characters from Hamlet.
* Murder in the Mews by Agatha Christie, a collection of four short stories.

Here is my 3.35 rounded to 3 stars review of Please Don't Lie by Christina Baker Kline & Anne Burt:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Psychological thriller / Domestic Suspense
Great worldbuilding
Lacked action and suspense except at the beginning and the end. Great prologue, then slow for a long time before the book picked up again.
Not really a thriller for me for most of the book, but still entertaining.
Here is my 3.82 rounded to 4 stars review of Dreaming of a White Wolf Christmas by Terry Spear:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Paranormal romance
Bk 2 in the White Wolf Series
Easy-to-read and enjoyable, but lacked the suspense and action that I expected.
My review for
Secrets in Featherwood Falls by Heather Reyburnhttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Here is my 4.3 rounded to 4 stars review of Dying Cry by Margaret Mizushima:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Mystery / Police Procedural
10th book in the Timber Creek K-9 series
Overall, this is a clever and suspenseful mystery with compelling characters, a great sense of place, and tense moments throughout the story.
I'm ending my week with
The Last Line by Scott Lyerly.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
For me, this book was right on the line between cozy and traditional. Others might consider it a cozy. Either way, I'm glad I read it.
I read The Inheritance Games
. It was a 5 star read for me. It started out slow, but once it got going I was hooked.
Here is my 4.3 rounded to 4 stars review of Three Girls Gone by Carolyn Arnold:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Mystery / Police Procedural
14th book in the Detective Amanda Steele series
Overall, this is a clever and fast-paced mystery with great characterization and some heart-breaking moments as well as some heart-warming scenes.
I read The God of the Woods5]. That book was heartbreaking, the selfishness of rich people and how it impacts others is pretty much the theme of the book. I'm reading
Cathedral of Bones: An Ela of Salisbury Medieval Mystery now which I don't think fits into the cozy genre
Here is my 4.25 rounded to 4 stars review of Legend of the White Wolf by Terry Spear:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Paranormal Romantic Suspense
1st book in the White Wolf series
Great characterization and world-building
Good chemistry between the main characters
Here is my 3.8 rounded to 4 stars review of Wolf to the Rescue by Terry Spear:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Paranormal Romantic Suspense
Novella
Book 4.5 in the White Wolf series
There's plenty of action, suspense, and romance, but I wanted a little more character depth.
Great world-building
Here is my 4.27 rounded to 4 stars review of Flight of the White Wolf by Terry Spear:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Paranormal Romantic Suspense
3rd book in the white wolf series
Great characterization and world-building
Set mainly in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in MN
Entertaining and full of romance, danger, and suspense.
Here is my 3.78 rounded to 4 stars review of The Highland Heist by Pepper Basham:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Christian Historical Mystery with a little Romance
4th book in the Frederick and Grace Mystery series
Funny, heartwarming at times, plenty of adventure, action, & suspense
The mystery was a little too easy to discern.
A fun and entertaining book, nonetheless.
Here is my 3.93 rounded to 4 stars review of Ancient Warlord by Katie Reus:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Paranormal romance with a little suspense
10th book in the Ancients Rising Series
Overall, this was an entertaining and enjoyable book with humor, great characterization, and a sweet, but slow burn romance. I wanted more suspense and action.
Currently reading,
by Agatha ChristieEnjoying it. I just feel like I don't trust Julius, he's just TOO convenient and too nice...that I'm like....this is fishy! They're sharing FAR too much with him.
Here is my 4.13 rounded to 4 stars review of The Night Collector by Victor Methos:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Legal / Crime Thriller
2nd book in the Vegas Shadows series
Well-crafterd plot, great characterization, suspenseful
Investigation and Trial
I didn't like the ending. The case is solved, but there's a major situation that is left up in the air. Otherwise, this would have been a 5-star read for me.
