Non-cozy mystery reads lately:
Wings of Snow by Krista Street: (Fae fantasy romance, book 3 of 4) I didn't like this one as much as the first 2 but I do plan to continue the series https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune: I know a lot of my Goodreads friends loved this one but it didn't quite work for me for a few reasons. I think after this I need to be better about listening to my gut and DNFing if I am not enjoying a book by about 25%-30% in.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Lake of Sorrow by Lindsay Buroker (Fantasy Romance, book 2 of 4) Really enjoyed this one!https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

My review for
Lies He Told Me by James Patterson & David Ellishttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Recently finished:
* Quade: The Irresistible One by Bronwyn Jameson — I could have sworn I read this one when it came out way back in 2003, so was surprised to find I had not — especially as it was signed and sent to me by the author. Oops! Glad I finally got round to it.
* The Travelling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikawa — Thoroughly enjoyed this one, though the ending wrecked me emotionally. Would definitely try another book by this author.
Currently reading:
* More Days at the Morisaki Bookshop by Satoshi Yagisawa — I’m more than halfway with this one and it’s a fast read. I read the first book in March.
* The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins — I’m only a third of the way into this 500-page Vic Lit. I was hoping to be at least halfway by now, but I had three consecutive migraine days earlier in the month and a cold last week, so I’m happy with 33 percent.

Here is my 4.41 rounded to 4 stars review of The Heist by Jack Du Brul:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Historical Thriller
14th book in the Isaac Bell series
Briskly paced
Centers around the beginning of the Federal Reserve Systerm
Mix of real and fictional characters woven into a fictional set of events
Over-the-top action at times, but engaging, suspenseful, and entertaining in this high stakes thriller
Finished More Days at the Morisaki Bookshop by Satoshi Yagisawa this morning. That’s two works of Japanese fiction in a row that have totally wrecked me and, unbeknownst to me when I picked up MDATMB, two books that touched on a similar theme. Would definitely read more by this author.
