My first book of the year was
A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas.I have come to enjoy these characters a lot, but the plot and pacing in this installment felt weaker. I had a lot of gripes but ended up giving it 3* overall.

I recently listened to A Court of Thorns and Roses and I thought the pacing was uneven and the characters weak and unlikable. I gave it 3 stars, but I plan to try the next book because I have heard it is better than the first.

I think most people (me included) like ACOMAF (#2) the best. I liked it but didn't love it. If you don't know yet... the story takes a massive shift in direction in #2.
