Tomie Kawakami is a femme fatale with long black hair and a beauty mark just under her left eye. She can seduce nearly any man, and drive them to murder as well, even though the victim is often Tomie herself. While one lover seeks to keep her for himself, another grows terrified of the immortal succubus. But soon they realize that no matter how many times they kill her, the world will never be free of Tomie.

I can't figure out just why they dislike her so much. She is attempting to get oddly close to the teacher but doesn't seem the horrible figure they perceive her to be, so far. (hide spoiler)]

The Basin of the Waterfall - (view spoiler)[A Tomie army has emerged from the waterfall. I'm still not vibing with this. It's my first horror manga and I thought I'd be so in love with it. It's a bit slow-paced for me though, at the minute. (hide spoiler)]

50% done (view spoiler)[I agree about the repetitiveness of this. I want to get more into why and how. Why is they one guy more obsessed than others. I thought he may have just been her first killer but I wonder if he did more. I have questions but no answers to any of it. (hide spoiler)]

I felt exactly the same. Everything occurring was eerie but too abstract and confusing for me to fully immerse myself in. I did find the latter half more engaging though.

I had a crazy week so read pages of this on my dinner breaks in work and have finally finished it. I did end up enjoying this more than during the first part and am also eager to discover more of the author's work, but this wasn't the five-star read I thought it would be. I really wished I felt the same. This was interesting but not the read I thought it would be. Hopefully I'll have more luck with his other work :)
