I haven't got too much of a feel for Tripp yet but I'm not his biggest fan so far, considering he dropped everyone once he was swept up in the orbit of the wealthy and popular kids. First quarter - (view spoiler)[I never read a McManus synopsis anymore and so am always excited by what I find. I hope we get lots of inclusions about the true crime show that Brynn is now working on. I wonder what secrets are going to be revealed? So far, I have no idea if any of the three kids are responsible for the teacher's murder but they certainly know something about what really occurred that day. I'm guessing that is why they stay so close to each other but keep their friendship so surface level, at the same time.

The missing money seems unrelated but might not be. Why would it be inside Charlotte's locker when her family was so rich? And Tripp's meeting with Officer Patz seems to hint that he believed Tripp lied for Charlotte and Shane that day but no one can figure out just why he would. Also, in Brynn's recollections the teacher seemed like a good guy, but he must not have been up to good if someone scrawled the word 'asshole' on his face when the memorial garden in his name was unveiled. Up to chapter 24 (view spoiler)[ Am I the only one starting to think that none of the three kids did it? The only one that seems a little suspicious is Shane. Charlotte just seems like a follower, and I feel like Tripp just walked up on the scene after the fact. I definitely feel like all 3 are hiding something. Maybe it was one of their parents and they are trying to protect them? I dont know.

Also Bryann's secret is out, and eveyone knows she is an intern and was getting intel from people at her school. Now no one is talking to her. I get why, but she needs to fix it quick if she wants to solve this crime. She will definitely need help, and to convince one of the three (probably Tripp) to tell the truth. (hide spoiler)]

Second quarter - (view spoiler)[Okay so the donations to both the school and the police department in the year of Larkin's death are sussss but it still feels too obvious if it was one Shane or Charlotte and their wealthy families were covering them up. It does seems like the book is heading in that direction though, especially after Shane pulled Tripp away from Brynn when he saw them talking at the party. Was he worried what he would say whilst drunk? Charlotte also tries to warn Brynn away from one of 'her boys'. (hide spoiler)]

Third quarter - (view spoiler)[I actually feel really sorry for Tripp now. To him it seems like both Brynn and his mum are just using him for his connection to the murder. And he also revealed that it was his dad who stole the school's money.

I wonder who Larkin's brother could be?? It was mentioned that this was his reason for teaching at the school. (hide spoiler)]

Fourth quarter - (view spoiler)[The reveal that Mason was Mr Larkin's half-brother was a little underwhelming as I never felt I really got to know his character. Charlotte's reveal got my intrigued all over again, though. This was a solid mystery and story. (hide spoiler)]
