Finished Terminal Alliance last night and I really liked it. It was fun and I enjoyed the characters.Started Terminal Uprising this morning.
I finished Songs of Earth and Power last night and put my comments in our BotM thread for February.
The Other Wind is next up.
The Other Wind is next up.
I'm currently rereading Magic's Pawn. The last time I read it I was a teenager and according to the reviews that's an important part of enjoying the book. However, so far I'm into it.

I love that series SO MUCH. I'm 46 and I still enjoy Magic's Pawn (and the rest). I don't know if I'd be quite as enamored of it if I read it for the first time as an adult, but the nostalgia factor is strong with Mercedes Lackey!
I just downloaded Exit Strategy from the library so more Murderbot is next for me!

I’ve read many of Lackey’s books as an adult and loved them. I was already an adult when these books were published.

Working my way through a re-read of Starship Troopers, as well picking back up the October Daye series with Once Broken Faith. I'm also attempting to finish The Lost Metal this month; I started when it came out and need some time to get lost in it.
I am listening to Watership Down, a book I first read in like 4th grade and re-read a few times. It's been quite a while since my last visit there and I am listening for the first time, it is just as good as I remember! Peter Capaldi is pretty much perfect for this narration, my only complaint is his voice for Kehaar but it's not bad enough to spoil the listen for me <3
Finished up The Other Wind ❤️!
Next is another conclusion of a series, The Bone Ship's Wake, for a different Goodreads group.

I finished Exit Strategy, which was my favorite Murderbot episode so far! It's fun to see the character evolve.
I just picked up Legends & Lattes from the library and will start that tonight. I will probably re-read Children of Earth and Sky next. Out of order for our monthly reads, but you never can control when a library loan comes in!

Just finished my third experience with The Bees. Something about it comes across differently in each of the three formats, and I find new charms each read. I recommend it; it's a bit like Bambi but bees instead of deer and for adults (or at least teens).
I just finished The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi and it was so good, 5 stars for sure! Will definitely continue whenever the next is released.

I finished it and I loved it! I was unable to finish 2 books last fall that had teenage protagonists and I thought I was getting too old for young heroes. However, I was with Vanyel the whole time.
Honestly, I thought he didn't whine enough. He was going through it.
I'm now reading Bakuman, Volume 15 with trepidation. I wasn't fond of the plot of the last book.
Finished Terminal PeaceHave to say I really enjoyed the series. I'm sad its over.
Next up is . . . I haven't the slightest clue yet. :D
I recently finished the Book Eaters and now I’m finishing up Babel: An Arcane History… (can’t remember the full title!). I’ve enjoyed both. Lots of social commentary, if you like that sort of thing (and I do). I’m also reading Blackfish City in print (Babel is audio - recommended!), but I’m not finding much time to read print. Oh, and I’m doing a book club module at Signum University on The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, so I’m slowly rereading that for the umpteenth time.
Just finished Babel and have started Contact by Carl Sagan in audio. I like it so far. Complaints of too much exposition at the beginning haven’t bothered me with the audio.
I finished my Children of Earth and Sky re-read and now I am partway through Beyond the Wand: The Magic and Mayhem of Growing Up a Wizard, Tom Felton's memoir (who played Draco Malfoy in the HP films).
Finished Children of MemoryThis is the 15th book I have rated 5 stars since 2009. I am very much looking forward to the discussion next month.
Now I just need to figure out what's next.
I just finished The Measure which has an unusual premise (everyone in the world older than 21 years receives a box with a length of string which is the measure of their lives. I really enjoyed this book. Now I'm about to start The Marrow Thieves
The Tom Felton memoir was okay - didn't go very much beyond the surface, but a quick read. The last few chapters were the best, where he write honestly about some of his mental health and substance abuse struggles.
I finished that yesterday, and today I ripped through The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna in a single day. It was very cozy and sweet. Similar to The House in the Cerulean Sea, if you liked that one.
I think I'm picking up Children of Memory next.

The Bone Ship's Wake by R.J. Barker, 9/10. Excellent wrap up to the Tide Child series.
Geomancer by Ian Irvine, book 1 in the Well of Echoes series, 8/10.
I’m about half done with The Mislaid Magician; or, Ten Years After by Patricia C. Wrede & Caroline Stevermer, wrapping up the Cecelia & Kate series.

Finished Meddling KidsStarted it at the end of my holiday vacation, didn't get very far, and then had to get back to work and it got set aside until last weekend.
OMG! Scooby!!!!!!
Ok, so its not really the Scooby-Doo characters, but still its so close in so many ways. And some of the scenes I could literally see in my head with the animated characters. Even facial expressions! And it pokes fun of the show and itself periodically for aping it.
Its like an adult love letter to the show. So much fun to read. I tagged it as horror, but honestly its not much more horror than the original cartoons were minus the acceptance of the fact that people actually get hurt in real life. Well and Lovecraftian eldritch horrors from the depths.
It also ends in such a way that there could easily be more books. But there aren't and I am very sad.
