How do I get a page count changed?
I ordered a book from Amazon Dead Mountain and the copy I received has 386 pages so I thought I could use it for task # 15.3 with the one book option which says the book must contain 2 of the page numbers in 3800, for one option, However the the page count in the listing is 416. which doesn't doesn't meet the requirement for the task. I have the paperback copy which does fit the task and it fits the other requirement because it it is #4 in a series of more than three books.

Ask in the librarian thread, but make sure you give them details of the book such as ISBN.

For purposes of showing that it is long enough to qualify to use in SRC (100 pages), you no longer need to ask for approval if the ebook edition lists a qualifying page count. Approval will only be needed when it doesn't list a page count and doesn't have a print edition in GR. This is a new rule that went into effect this season, Summer 2025.

Your book lists a page count and can be used in this challenge.

In the FORMATS/AGE LEVEL section of the updated rules it is still asking for verification if there is no print edition.

"8. Using ebooks
If no print edition of a book exists on Goodreads, you MUST get the book pre-approved by a moderator in the topic "eBook verification-no print edition" in General Help.

ebooks without print editions cannot ........

If you claim a book in Completed Tasks that exists ONLY in ebook format, you MUST provide a reference to the ebook verification document when you post ex."Approved @ line #" or provide the post number in the ebook verification thread where it was approved ex. "ebook Approved post #"

This falls under the new rule that as long as it lists page count that qualifies, it doesn't need to be approved for length for general SRC purposes. It still cannot be used for a task that requires a certain minimum page count above the 100 pg general requirement since it doesn't have a print edition.

I'm not sure if this is the right thread for this q, but I had a good look around and couldn't find an answer anywhere. Sorry if it's the wrong place!

Can one book be used for two tasks? For instance I'm reading the Midnight Library at the moment and I believe it qualifies for the below two tasks on the Fall Challenge 2025 - do I need to read two different books?

5.1 By The Numbers

The Fall challenge takes place in September (9 letters), October (7 letters), and November (8 letters).
Read a book where the title (Subtitles excluded) has at least one word of 7, 8, or 9 letters.

and

10.2 Window to the Past

Historical sites have been called "a window to the past"
Read a book with a window on the over. The full window must be visible and shown as a window on a building, vehicles do not count.
Required: Post the cover.

There are two hardcover editions, but neither have a page count and Librarians won't add data without being able to confirm version, which isn't possible because there isn't any ISBN data.

I can't find any page information for the hardcovers on Amazon - weird. But with the new rule changes, you can link to the qualifying ebook, which has pages.

Thanks Kim, I'd forgotten about that rule change! Yeah, the small press / indie books are sometimes hard to get metadata for, much less added to GR book records; very annoying all around lol.
