I think one of the characters (who was poorer than the others and worked as a caterer briefly) was named Laura, and she dated a rich boy named John. They met when he hit her with his bike. There was also a character whose mom was a famous TV presenter - I think that characters name was Chelsea. Every book had a different brightly colored cover.
