What are some good last names for a character in a story or roleplay?

Murphy, Smith, Lane and Price are the only okay sounding last names I could think of. Hope that helps

Cameron, Anderson, Abbett, Jones, Davis, Whitlock, and Hart are some of the top of my head!

it honestly depends on what race your character is, what year it is, and where they live, but my favorite thing to do is look up ‘most common last names’ when I write :D

That's a really good point! I also recommend if you know anyone from a specific area or something that you ask them for some common last names they see

What I do is Google "unique last names," and a website comes up that has a list of last names, and their meanings. I can share the link if you'd like.
