Alexandra I read the first book in the series and bought the second one but I haven't started it yet. Should I keep reading the series?

Anaia Sharp YES definitely keep reading it gets so much better!!!

Alexandra okay thanks!

books.caffiene.fiction read the first book, definitely a slower burn for me. it was worth finishing but was hard to get through

Jessy I think it's slow to get into, but totally gets more enjoyable as the series goes on. I liked it.

Vanja Yeeess. The second book is much better

Jennifer ✨ The third book is somewhat disappointing in my opinion because it felt like the story should have been extended like another 200 pages

abi 100%- I was unsure at first but I absolutely loved the second half of the first book and the second one. The third one is meh but Jude's character development makes it all worth it! One of my fav series ever

Sarah The first like half of the first book was really slow for me and I thought the whole series was going to be like that, but it got so much better. The second book is better than the first, in my opinion, and this is definitely one of my top favorite series ever

Joanne Yes,the ending of third book is so worth it, I was unsure at first too, cause i bought them in may and i was like hmmm i heard they are popular but boring and overhyped(tt said that not me lol) but after reading all of 3 in 3 days i disagree with tik tok opinions, they are really interesting and there are so many characters to cheer on.
They are one of my favourites fantasy books.

Caleb Gross Yes definitely

Sky Arangio I'm halfway through "The Wicked king" and to be completely honest, I'm not enjoying it even half as much as I enjoyed the first book. The narration is bland. The plot is boring and oversimplified. Jude is constantly making stupid decisions. The way Cardan's character is developing makes no sense whatsoever. I'd suggest you try reading it for yourself and decide then whether or not you want to go through with it.

Brianna I read the 1st book and there are so many plot twists it’s CRAZY no spoilers but within the first 5 pages there was already so much going on!!!!!!! However because it is the first book in the series there is a lot of back stories and it is kinda slow. Overall great book.

Anya Honestly, when I first read this, I got all the way through the first book and halfway through the Wicked Prince, before I gave up. I think it even put me in a reading slump. Granted, a few months later it was the one to pull me out of it. Everything changed a few chapters after where I had given up, and eventually things started to make more sense. So, my advice is not to read this book if:
- You don't care about politics, not even/ especially not in a fantasy world
- You don't like "real" enemies to lovers, where there is no friends stage in between
- You prefer book bf's who are uber mature and completely flawless, (Aaron Warner being an example of this, I would say he is the complete opposite of Cardan but both are incredible characters in their own ways)
- You don't like female mc's who care more about their future/ politics than they do the male mc
- You can't do slow burns that last more than one book in a series
- You only read and enjoy fluffy, short and sweet romances and don't fancy reading anything different yet

Urmi♡ Absolutely!!! i mean how can you even stop reading without getting the satisfaction of knowing what's going to happen next! I binge the whole series!! and read it again ( i don't usually re-read books, so that says a lot)
better enemies to lovers doesn't exist.

Jude is a badass and my absolute fav. <3
“If I cannot be better than them, I will become so much worse.”
“Kill him before he makes you love him.”
“I hate you," I breathed into his mouth. "I hate you so much that sometimes I can't think of anything else.”

cardan? dont get me started
“By you, I am forever undone.”
“If you’re the sickness, I suppose you can’t also be the cure.”
"It was yours before I could ever admit it, and yours it shall ever remain."
“Come home and shout at me. Come home and fight with me. Come home and break my heart, if you must.”

Jeyshell yes 100%, although if you're mostly expecting a lot of romance, then you'll be disappointed because most people forget this is a fantasy book with a subplot of romance !! <3

Matildabluebell yes!! i found the first book very difficult to get into , however by the end i was debating to read the rest of the series , however I'm so glad i did . i found the next 2 books a lot more interesting and more fun to read . i hope this helps !!! :)

Dua N Yes it’s such a good series the romance is amazing.

Ariana Yes keep reading each book gets better and better! After the first book I almost stopped but I am glad I didn't!

Sofie I think it gets better with eath book

zei ! please please continue the series, the story itself is very plot driven and focuses a lot of the politics within the world Jude is in, but it really forces me to understand the characters more and plus the slow burn romance sub-plot makes it so so much sweeter to read.
