Yay!! Happy New Years fellow SOSers. This year I plan to finish and catch up on series that I have fallen behind on… or just lost interest in. First up is listening to Lynsay Sands Argeneau series. My reading order is all over the place but I found a treasure stash of Audios on Libby thru the library, Score!! Currently reading
Finished so far this year:

I've had a good start to the year with
and as I got a late start to my holiday season reading, I'm carrying on!
So far this year I've read:
bought the paperback for myself for Christmas :)
A SOS Secret Santa pressie
&
eagerly awaiting #3
in MarchSo I'm now reading
which is set in the same world as above, which I probably should've read first. Oh well, that means quite a few books to read while waiting for March. And of course
which comes out for me tomorrow :)
I'm on a roll this year! I've already read -
I've read a short story from
I just started our writer's group read of the month (On the Wings for Writers) -
This totally looks like a guilty pleasure kind of book...lol.
I’m officially caught up all things Argeneau… finished listening to
Actually read read my first book of the year
and ~FAN GIRLING ~ member of the BDH… Such a surprise I could not wait for the audio. It’s kind of a teaser & hope its a possible spinoff (fingers crossed). It was over way too quickly, but was such an awesome treat visiting the Kate & Curran universe . Also discovered that iTunes remembered my first audio purchases over a decade ago, toss those downloaded CDs…. So I can re-listen
@Steph mentioned the perspective of meeting the characters with the knowledge of who or what they became, so I’m gonna join the challenge.
So, I've read a few more holiday novellas;
really enjoyed
enjoyed
not my thing - porn as plot. Liked the writing though, so I will read more from this author.
let down by silly instalove and execution. Also,
more of a quiet, atmospheric small town UF with just a smidgen of romance. Really needs sequels to flesh out the world and learn about some of the side characters.
sequel to one I really enjoyed mid last year, but I'd left it far too long to recall some of the details so got in the way a bit. Also, I was expecting an end to this story (not sure why though?) so the end came out of left field. Still, it was very entertaining for the most part, with a great cast of characters, and I will read the next one - whenever that may be.It's an historical (our world bits were set in 1930s Spain) portal fantasy, where the Bermuda Triangle is the doorway from our world into the fantasy world.
Really enjoying my re-read (listen) of all things Jane. I officially re-listened
AND
I may have read a little farther, but I cannot admit it here just yet due to an active challenge. We are patiently reading one book a month from the Jane Yellowrock series. But... (view spoiler)
I forced myself to read a couple of non-SOS type books. And ended this week with
, not my favorite Dallas book, just never enough Roarke time. Always nice to spend time in futuristic NYC. Now I'm going to start Christine Feehan's Torpedo Ink series, and read
Hoping it makes sense without having to read her Drake Sisters & Sisters of The Heart series first.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

That's the sign of a good series, Lis, binge reading.
I'm guilty of the same with K.M. Shea's Magiford Supernatural City Series, which is, so far, trilogies of different supes, all living in Magiford, ruled by the Supernatural Council. Just can't get enough of it; waiting on the next book to be published in March.
(Hall of Blood & Mercy)
(Court of Midnight & Deception)
(Pack of Dawn & Destiny) & the latest one
(Gate of Myth & Power)
Oooh, I'm glad to hear you're liking those so much, Sandra. I'll have to return to her series soon. I wanna start at the beginning this time since on my first read of hers I inadvertently jumped into the third "set".

Remembered you liked em, so as I'm looking for good KU books, I jumped in .... and loved them.
I’m having difficulties with the thread * Book Freebies [Kindle/Nook/Author/Pub/Other]. It times out before loading the page all weekend. It’s not doing this for other topics….maybe the thread has too many pages? It’s been going for s few years….
I've opened a new thread Val & locked the old one. I'm having trouble opening it as well.If you can remember the last couple you added, please add them again, if not don't worry.
I'm reading several books. Not only is Kushiel's Dart my writing groups virtual writing retreat location this is an old favorite that I read about ever year. I'm also reading The Butcher and the Wren which has been keeping me from reading my book clubs book.

Thanks for sharing the difficulties and for creating a new thread, Sandra. I've been meaning to do that and kept forgetting.

Soooo... the first book in Christine Feehan Torpedo Ink series felt like I had missing parts since it was a spin off of the Sea Haven Sisters of the Heart series. Sooo I read
the 2nd book in her series since I had read #1 Water Bound before.... AND that felt like I was missing parts too since it was a spinoff of her first series in Sea Haven... So... now I'm reading / listening to the Drake Sisters series starting with
and currently reading / listening to
. Able to find most of the audios on Libby (free library) or Scribd. 5 down, 16 books to go.
I'm listening to The Hunger Games and reading both Stephanie Brother's Bound to the Bikers , MirandaMagick , and working my way through Letters to the Universe: 50 Guided Letters to Help You Script and Manifest the Life You Want
I'm struggling. Used to having books be a welcome escape from RL, but, lately, it seems RL is overpowering most books' pull. 😔I've managed to complete a few good reads lately:
I've just started Armstrong's
and am enjoying it.
I have back tracked on a few series before moving onto the spinoffs. I finished listening to CF's Drake Sisters series with
and
waiting on
to come available. Then moved onto CF's Sisters of the Heart with
and back to #1 re-read of
Then I have become all nostalgic again by starting Patricia Brigg's shorts
which lead to a re-read of
and currently reading
Thank you library. I'm blaming the desire to revisit favs to the Jane Yellowrock series re-read.
Lis, Sometimes there is nothing more enjoyable than rereading a good series. I’m afraid I’m terribly behind on Feehan’s work (only started Ghostwalker series or Dark series) and never got to the other series.
Steph wrote: "I was thinking about A&O just recently, missing that one."Listening to the short 0.5 intro and then the first full book and getting all the feels again! I think that enough time has passed that while the story is familiar, the details and re-listening from their perspectives and the emotions of the characters as they met and getting to know each was nice to revisit.

CFs Shadow Riders series is one of the better ones similar to Ghostwalker but with inherited powers vs the mad scientist petri dish kind. I like her writing... but I find her books starts to fall into a pattern of chapter, steamy scene, repeat. I also need to catch up on Ghostwalker too but I have abandoned her Carpathian / Dark and Leopard series. Happy Reading!

Lately I've been re-reading RJ Blain & Susan Copperfield - same author. Love her books.
I think people are reading less books this year because I’m supposedly in the top 25%….and I’m half my usual book count this year from previous ones.
🤔 I got the same email and thought the same thing. I’ve read a bit more this year than the last, I think, but have read a LOT more in years past.
